Engine oil cooler question

Do you know if it's possible to flash the PCM to advise it that an engine oil cooler has been added?

That way the display will be accurate.

Why is a change to the PCM needed in order to have an accurate temp displayed? If the oil is cooler, wouldn’t the sensor detect it and read out that number?

Why is a change to the PCM needed in order to have an accurate temp displayed? If the oil is cooler, wouldn’t the sensor detect it and read out that number?
There is no oil temp sensor... the car uses a software algorith to determine the oil temp... a change in that algorith is needed to get proper a reading once a cooler is added. The only way to change that algorith is with a program modification to the PCM.
