I think the S550 was 5w-20 but i can’t remember. Honestly it should be ok but i wouldn’t push it past 3k miles on the change with the meat these things make causing viscosity to fall faster. But if you want 5w-30 I’d call them and tell them to make it right and they should because the manual says 5w-30
My dealer in Murphy, NC did the same thing twice for my Ford Escape oil changes, put 5W-20 instead of the 5W-30 I requested. Both times it was late in the afternoon and the second time when I complained to the service manager they were willing to change it, but really don't trust them now. Went to another dealer for an oil change on my new F-150. Much better service and they have more experienced techs at Quick Lane which will also do other minor repairs.

Went to the dealer for an oil change and specifically asked for full synthetic 5W-30 since that’s what the service rep told me my car takes. Paid for it without issue, but when I reviewed the paperwork later, it says they used 5W-20 instead.

Now I’m wondering if 5W-20 is okay for my car or if I need to go back and demand they change it to the correct oil. Frustrated because I paid for the right oil, but they may have put something else in. Anyone know if 5W-20 could cause problems, or should I insist they fix it?
This thread is getting "long in the tooth" but if I asked for synthetic 5w-30 and that's NOT what they put in, they would be changing it ASAP, as simple as that. What dealers do is pump oil out of a bulk barrel of whatever they buy and that is your oil change no matter what you ask for......except for me. I want what I said I want and it's that simple.

This kind of shit is only one of the reasons I change my own oil. It's like ordering a red car and they said the blue one that came in is yours.......like hell!!

If I go to the dealer quick change I watch the guy take the big old measuring cup looking thing over to the 'wall of oil', which is a bunch of cardboard bulk packs in various weights, fill it with the oil they are using, then they come over to the car and dump it in
