I guess I’m fortunate to like my Dealer Service. They are really nice and (so far) never had a problem. They let me bring my own oil and filer (Mobil 1 Extended Life) and I have the convenience of being aware of any software updates that might be needed, or any recalls.

I like my corner garage mechanic, but he hates changing hot oil, so I have to leave it for the day, and he doesn’t address recalls or software updates.

My dealer also now offers mobile home oil change service at no extra charge. I haven’t done that yet, but would have the luxury of being right there while work is done. And have control over the work environment.

I work as a tech in a shop, and my car goes back to the dealer for oil changes

I can't buy the oil, filter, shop supplies and pay for disposal for less than what the dealer is charging me, and I don't have to deal with 20 effn fasteners to get to the filter and drain plug,

The rest of my fleet I do myself, but the Mustang goes to the dealer and that way I have proof of mileage and service for when my widow sells the car
