Thats because the 6-speed PP has 3.73 gears.

Kinda makes one wonder how we ever drove big engine high horsepower cars without computer controls doing our jobs for us. And don’t mention cable operated throttles that connected the accelerator pedal directly to the carburetor.

I dunno man, carb'd engines were always pretty damn snappy when setup correctly.

Agreed, but before 1972, horsepower figures were of gross ratings so if I take a stock 1965 348hp Goat and translate that to a more realistic net hp, that comes out to slightly under 300hp. That in a 3600 lb car still runs in the high 14'- low 15's no matter what tire you put on it

I suspect its gear ratio.

When I test drove the manual and auto GTs, I found the autos to have better throttle response. Especially the ones with the 3.55 gears. I did not drive a manual with the 3.73 gears (PP only), But I personally think the manuals need to have 3.73 gears to feel the response. I had 3.73s in my M1 with the Tremec, and the response was excellent.

Yes indeed the 3:55's are too low for the long gearing in the new mt82. I have also noticed even when i put it into sport it doesn't adjust the throttle. If you switch into sport while driving you should feel the car pull or feel like its trying to go vs normal. I sometimes need to let it run a bit in normal then switch. Palm beach dyno also proved that the regular GT has its throttle set to only open to around 97% im not sure if they found out about is the curves are different yet, but i believe they are. Short of the piston rods everything else is easily added on from the DH which is why the GT has been nerfed down.
