I always felt the active exhaust tips look cheap. By comparison, Camaro active exhaust (which GM calls "NPP") has nice dual-walled tips that look very premium

Dude...with this kind of cut, only a Hello Kitty or CareBear bandaid will do! I respect Lion King though...but might look more like he's compensating for something else....

Begs the question and I've never looked but seems like I need to..are there replacement tips on the market or hell, even some kind of fitting? Or would we have to replace with some Cat back system to change these? I'm going to have to look now.

They are definitely sharp. I've cut my finger on them too. Not fun.

The tips don't bother me but are nothing special.......but we bought them with our money not under duress.......

Not that exhaust tips would deter any rational person from buying a car they otherwise liked, but Ford definitely went basic with these.

I'm sure an exhaust shop could put nicer rolled tips on, but it would be expensive.
