For those in FL, if not already aware, the following is occurring on the west coast: diesel fuel loaded in gas station ground tanks by mistake. I've not read of incidents in other areas of the state.

https://apnews.com/article/florida-...idalia-storm-f87e0a62250d252eff7ea51cc3a78880

"The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said late Sunday that gasoline purchased after 10 a.m. Saturday at some Citgo-supplied stations had a strong likelihood of being contaminated with diesel fuel."

"The gas stations that are believed to have received the contaminated fuel are:

That's a pretty massive, consequential mistake I have never heard of before. I wonder how many cars ended up with diesel in their tanks and now need $thousands$ to replace the fuel systems?

I'm afraid the numbers could be quite large. While the initial assessment of affected stations has been completed, I think it is too soon to know the amount of cars impacted.

I'm not familiar with the location, but some of these stations can have rather large sales volumes on a normal day. With the hurricane approaching, people loading up and moving inland or out of harms way, still greater amounts might have been bought.

An even nastier situation as those owners may now be stranded if they desire to evacuate. Most Floridians are probably going to throw a hurricane party instead anyway so this just hampers their ability to get party snacks and alcohol.

Not yet. Yesterday Ford said delivery no later than 9/2. This morning the online tracker just shifted my estimated delivery to 9/4-9/17 (it was 8/24-9/6 yesterday). So, I have no idea what is going on other than it is sitting in Baldwin waiting on the hurricane to come through. 😂
Bummer man. Mine is supposed to be in Orlando September 5. We’ll see how accurate that is. Good luck! Let me know when you get yours, it sucks to be so close yet so far away.

My online tracker initially showed 8/24-9/6 delivery, and yesterday Ford chat told me estimated delivery was no later than 9/2.

This morning the online tracker changed to 9/4-9/17. Ford chat support just now told me it is sitting at Ramp 12, Jacksonville, Florida with an estimated delivery 9/7-9/13. So, it looks like my car will be riding out Hurricane Idalia in Jacksonville.

I know it's not feasible for Ford, but it sure would be nice if they would let me pay a transport company to get it to my dealer. The car is going to be sitting just two hours from the dealer for who knows how long at this point.

I’m in central Florida so I’m hoping Idalia keeps moving north northwest. That’s also probably why mine is going to Orlando instead of Jax, only an hour away from my dealership. With the way this tracker system works your car might hit your dealer before this weekend. 😁 my tracker still says 8/28-9/10, lol

I'm hoping the original delivery estimate by 9/2 comes true even though the current estimate is pushed out. Who knows at this point. Tomorrow is shaping up to be interesting as I'm right in the center of the projected path, although fortunately about 60 miles inland. I'm praying everyone in the path stays safe. Although I want the car as soon as possible, it's not worth anyone putting themselves in harm's way to deliver it.

My GT has been sitting in Jax waiting for hauler since Monday 5 AM.
Today Chat advised delivery By Sept 5 same as tracker. Dealer confirmed same on Vinview and sent HOT push to hauler and advised once it reaches Jax haulers have 48 hours to respond so hopefully get an update it's on track and moving south away from that bitch Idalia tomorrow just in time!

Good luck. Hopefully they will get yours moved out before Idalia hits tomorrow. Mine has been there since Saturday and looks like it going to be there through the hurricane and for a while longer as well.

Where is your car going? What dealership, if you don’t mind saying.

I took my current Mustang to be service there twice for recalls this year and both times I've had issues with their service department. Because of that I took my order to Kelly Ford instead.

That really sucks. They’ve been servicing my 18 and 20 for a few years now. I usually deal with Chris in the service department, I haven’t had any issues with that part. Now the sales team, that’s a different story. They’re all your best friend and all knowing when you’re buying a car but after the deal is made they suck at following up and don’t know shit about anything. They’ve been less than helpful throughout this ordering process.

Well, the important thing is we survived Hurricane Idalia. My home was right in the center of the path, and we were fortunate to only have minor damage. Trees are down everywhere and many homes and vehicles in our neighborhood had trees fall on them, but we escaped with only one downed tree that fell on my enclosed trailer. Fortunately, the trailer kept the tree propped up so it didn’t hit my F-250. 😊

We are currently without power, as is 99.7% of our county. My dealer is a couple of counties away and they had 67% without power as of yesterday evening. I think Jacksonville, where my car currently sits, was spared from major damage, so hopefully the car is ok. I’m expecting no movement on delivery before next week at the earliest. The roads around here are terrible with trees and power lines down everywhere. I went to my office yesterday to survey the damage, and it was a mess trying to navigate. Major and minor roads are blocked with trees.

Sitting tight at the moment and working on cleanup from the storm since we’ll likely be without power for several days. Overall, I’m thankful we’re all safe, and the car delivery date has become very insignificant over the last 24 hours. It will arrive at some point.
