Well, if its really is 11v volts he shouldn't be able to start the car let alone drive for long without it dying.

I suspect the battery is taking a shit and hes not getting an accurate reading.
I've had many flat batteries / failed batteries over the years and never had a 'charge system fault warning' without there being a charge system fault

What is the alert for a dead battery?

“The incorrect battery may not stand up to the charge rate of a smart charge system and could easy overheat causing failure of the battery…”

“The battery charge light can illuminate for various reasons and the vehicle should always be checked for underlying faults before condemning the alternator.”
Well, one assumes the correct battery is fitted!

Yes indeed, as the car warning says - 'charging system fault', the alternator is part of that system but not all of it.

It was the alternator. They ordered a new one yesterday and it was received this morning. It's currently being installed and car should be ready sometime later today.
Looks like @Gregs24 was correct. I'm glad to hear it's getting fixed. 👍🏻

Give the battery a good charge when you get it home as modern charging systems take a long time to recover a discharged battery unlike the old days.
