The S650 is basically a 10 year old car with a 14 year old motor with a few new body parts and 2 touchscreens inside...The Camaro The Camaro was new 8 years ago and had a 10 year old engine design...The Challenger had its last engine update in 2015 and the Widebody suspension/brake package for the Scatpack came in 2019...
Ford sells a widebody package too. I think both come from Bushwacker.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

I thought the same until I finally drove one last summer...I actually think after the honeymoon is over and the newness has worn off the Challenger WB 6-spd is more fun to drive on the road (not racetrack) than the gen6 SS1LE I had before...! I was also in the market for a DH but lack of TORQUE and touchscreens were the dealbrakers for me...And a narrow body I would not touch with a 10 foot pole...LOL

My MLC car was a C7 Z06. Not what I was going for a decade later. 😉

Doe your pie hole every open up without you cutting something down or injecting something negative into the conversation? Maybe you need a cup coffee or a vacation or something. Gheesh.

I had absolutely ZERO issues with my C7 Z06.

My C7 Z06's were the best performance/sports cars that I've ever owned in my 75+ years.

Depending what you did with them…On warm days on the track they killed the power and went limp not to overheat and driven fast they liked to swap ends without much warning…That is why they went mid engine but forgot to install the manual…But the AARP crowd prefers autoboxes anyways…🤣The last Z06 that had enough traction for the available power and did not drop valves or overheated and went in limp mode after a few spirited laps was the C5ZO6…I for sure enjoyed mine despite the trash can interior and awful squeaks and rattles but almost 25 years ago nothing else could touch it for $50K new…Still clean looking compared to the monstrosity they put out today…But time has moved on !

I think the challenger/charger where based on the MB E class from 2002 which would be the W211…The front double wishbone was taken from that period S class if I remember right but I think the net knows more…🤣

Um...do the Challenger and Charger handle/take turns at speed about the same? (specifically R/T and Scat Pack) I'm curious just because I saw some the other day and the R/T models were discounted significantly. I test drove a Charger R/T recently and wasn't impressed by the handling so I'm just wondering if the Challenger fares any better. Which then leads to the main question, "How does the Challenger R/T or Scat Pack handle compared to the Mustang GT?"

Well, for my 2 cents I wouldn’t buy a Stellantis anything. They are constantly on the most unreliable list, Dodge, Fiat. Alpha, Jeep.
I wonder how many ACTUALLY do vehicle research before buying one. I’ll bet no one. I wonder if those who purchased a Dodge Ram truck looked at the average ongoing maintenance for them. Over their 10 year life the owner can expect to pay over $17,000 In repairs. The highest of all trucks.

I’ll take the Mustang any time. Even so, the Challenger has been dropped and GM has dropped the Camaro. So I guess only one Pony car left.

To answer your question I can tell you coming from a Camaro SS 1LE on a track the Camaro is faster because very neutral handling to the point of being on rails boring…The Scatpack Widebody Challenger is more fun to drive on normal roads because of a huge wave of Torque right off idle and short gearing and it rotates into turns which feels great…Compared to that the Mustang feels like the front understeers until the rear oversteers and gets kind of loose/floaty at speeds above 140…You cant compare a regular R/T 5.7 with a 6.4 WB which has stiffer springs and bigger swaybars than even the HC Widebody…Never driven a Charger as I dont like 4 doors or automatics…

You are right pointing out Stellantis not so stellar reliability record but Ford is actually worse leading this years recall list with 16% of all recalls…Living in a glass house you should not throw stones…🤣 But I am not too worried about the reliability record of the Challenger/Charger as these cars have been in production for 16 years and you can get Stellantis bumper to bumper warranty for up to 8 years and 85/100/125K miles for 2.5-3.5K $ which is cheap insurance for about a buck a day…And you get your money back if you had no warranty claims or sold your car before 👍

Fair enough. I wasn't aware the 5.7 was a completely different experience from the 6.4. Oh well, the only reason I'd consider a Challenger is because it has an actually usable back seat...although now I'm wondering how the Challenger R/T handles for daily driving and occasional spirited driving at the speed limits (yes, I'm THAT enthusiast who enjoys driving automatics, thank you very much 😝).
