I'm Not sure this is in the right forum, but it's close enough. Is a catch can worth purchasing and installing, or is it just a gimmick. I got a lot of money tied up in my Dark Horse, and if that catch can will help extend the life of the coyote, them I'll get one on it asap. Thanks for your input.

Well Ford recommends them for some conditions in the owners manual. Like anything else, it’s a tradeoff.

Disregard the self draining feature that’s a misprint from the GT500.

I had a passenger side (dirty) on my ā€˜19 and would empty it every 5k when I changed oil, I never measured the amount. I would rather have it in the can then going back in the intake. On my ā€˜24 I have both sides since it has a whipple, passenger side has had some on both oil changes and the drivers side has been dry.. IMO I would say at the very least get a passenger side.. I have the JLT but I’m sure UPR or the Ford Performance ones would all work fine.

JLT or J&L? I have the UPR, it’s really well made but difficult to get to for maintenance. I was considering the J&L as it seems easier to maintain. FP is too overpriced for the S650.

I have the Ford Performance air/oil separators on my 25. I installed them at around 1000 miles and just for fun I checked them at around 1300 miles and there was a little bit in the passenger side and none on the driver side.

Why did you get 2 AOS? Is it because of the dual intakes?

I've got a J & L PCV (passenger side) can on my GT. Just put it on a couple hundred miles ago, so haven't checked it yet. I'll probably check it on the 5s (10K, 15K, 20K, etc). Don't expect to see much accumulation though.

I have the FP catch cans on my GT. I'm not concerned about carbon buildup on the valves, since we have port injection along with the DI.

I'm trying to avoid any crud buildup on the charge motion plates and the associated actuator parts. I figure less oil/crank vapor in the intake = less crud. I get about a 1/3 cup of liquid with each oil change (5k). I have let the collected fluid sit in a jar for several days and don't notice much if any water separation. This leads me to believe I'm collecting mostly oil vapor.

Does any of this make a difference... probably not.
Do I just like to play amateur engineer on the weekeds... definitely.

Driver or passenger side? Ford Performance offered a passenger side in teh s550 models. But changed to driver/passenger side in the S650. What gives

It's just the Ford Performance version. It comes with two cans. It's probably why it is so much more expensive than the others
