Interesting. How are they different?
it’s just easier to drive. The car is rev matching on upshits and downshifts. They’re applying throttle as well as you lift off the clutch which makes it simpler too. Perhaps more to do with computer enhancements than the actual transmission. I know it’s on the 3rd gen since my 14, but personally I find it quite pleasant to use even in heavy stop and go traffic. How tiresome the MT82 was in heavy traffic was a big part in why I sold my 14.

Oh they clearly at some point figured out the springs for the pedal. I recall there being a replacement spring to make the 14 clutch Feel consistent through the entire range. The thought hasn’t entered my mind once driving the 24.

Facts. The Tremec is excllent. Although having driven both the Tremec and MT82, I do think the criticism on the Getrag is bit over blown.
i agree i have my issues with the mt82 and ford does deserve the bashing they take over it as they chose to cheap out in some areas that could have been avoided. The shifter being a huge point of contention Its too long, too sloppy, and too inconsistent. Is it undrivable and horrible no especially not in its current incarnation. No most definitely not. Could it use some tweaks yes. The auto rev match is great, and the hill hold works as expected. The 3rd gear lockout is a real pain in the lugnuts.

OK, I'm confused here.
Manuals are more engaging, enjoyable and shows you are a skilful driving God. But people want auto blipping and flat shifting nannies to do the hard stuff?
How about an auto clutch option, or shifter paddles so you don't get tired from moving that big heavy gearshift?

Rev matching and short throws make driving a manual a blast. 😉

Hard to skip a gear when you have to select sequentially

There will always be this confusion and opinions will not be changed. Simply put, it's personal preference. I got the 10spd. because the last six speed (Z06) was a POS to live with and it was a Tremec. Also, my back is still healing from uber complicated back surgery 14 months ago, has a few months to go, will never be 100%, and I don't need any more misery. I just got back from a little trip and the auto will get the car on down the road, like, "right now".

Just for those that might have missed it, my last post was a piss take. But with a little bit of truth.
If you really want to be purist, manual everything, heel and toeing. etc.
Out of curiosity, who here has driven a non synchro box, having to double declutch?

I have but damned if I can remember what it was. It isn't hard at all.

One can learn to rev match perfectly from riding sport bikes. Again, it just isn't hard, nor is heel and toeing. Repetition works on people just like it works on dogs, just not as good with people.

I daily drive my 6 speed. The clutch pedal is light and I'm in an area with bad trffic. No issues.

I don't care that the auto is faster.
Nothing like a 500hp V8 bolted to a 6 speed and LSD.

Light clutch, shifts great. True sports car experience.

Do you know the premium people pay in the 911 world for a stick?

Very true. When my driving career began most cars had non synchro first gear. I did drive some really old stuff with crash boxes, but by then it was mostly older trucks, or cars with stuffed synchros.
Everyone should have to learn to ride bikes. We'd have much better drivers, and less traffic congestion from the culling effect.

I’m still getting the feel of my auto trans. In Normal mode, it just lugs to the next gear (I’m still trying to be gentle in break-in), though it’s a little more responsive with the exhaust set to Track.

Now approaching 600 miles on the OD, I’m exploring Sport Mode on the trans. It’s a bit annoying as I get on the throttle and yes it holds gears longer, but I’ll hit 5th gear and it just hangs on to it forever.…still winding out past 5000 RPM. I then find myself using the paddle to upshift to 6th to keep RPM’s down during break-in. I think Sport mode will be fun with a combination of paddle work.

I do like how Sport will hold in like 7th gear while cruising so the engine isn’t just lugging along.

I’m sure those with manuals are laughing at me by now…lol. “Should have just got a damn manual, you’d have all the control you wanted”

I do still like auto trans with the paddle, I just HATE 10 gears! Should have been 6…tops.

I have the A10 for two weeks now, have 2000 km. As I mentioned previously, never had auto trans. before. This is awesome to drive. Also didn’t like the sport mode in the beginning as it felt more harsh and not really for cruising as it keeps the rev up. However I found the sport mode is good at hills and curvy roads, with combination of paddles it does excellent job. The 10 speeds allows you to put your revs exactly at the point you want to have them.

Give it time to learn your driving habits. It will adjust.

Sport is a bit gimmicky IMO. The quicker throttle response off the line is a bit of a placebo. If you don't adjust your foot pressure for the improved response, it likes to hang in gears too long. I think normal mode is just as fast if you put your foot into it.

Track mode is the Goldie locks zone. Linear trottle response and quicker shifting without the gears hanging. It downshift perfectly in this mode too.
