Are Ecoboost underated HP wise?

I think either Ford has underated the HP on these cars or the Ford Performance tune is underrated from the advertised specs.


Whent to the Strip Saturday night. Was pleased with the way this 2025 Ecoboost ran. Mods are a Ford Tune and Eurocompulsion Intake.

First pass was a 12.79 at 109 with a 2.0 60 foot

Second pass was a 12.6 at 107.4 with a 1.9 60 foot

This was at 1500DA

Street SS tires on the rear.


To put this in perspective there was a newer SS Camaro running mid to low 12s and a S550 with bolt ons and slicks running mid to low 12s.
A S550 Mach One that couldn’t get out of the 14s..He couldn’t launch though

For those of you who don’t know the 2024 up ecoboost engines where completely re engineered. It’s a completely different engine then the 2023 and below.

I don't drag race mine, but on the dyno you're correct. Best case is almost 345 HP and just over 410 FP. All said, I'll admit one small detail... 0 to 60 is in the very low 4s (Shell pump premium).

Is that what they dyno with a ford tune or stock?
These runs are with shell premium has well. 91 octane with octanium

That sounds about right for a tuned car. They get a sizeable pickup from a tune like most turbo cars do

Those are excellent numbers! Wallace Racing has free calculators, where you can enter data and compare the results with factory ratings. I used the calculations as a tool to judge the results of my modifications.

PS: NMRA published a picture of my Ecoboost racing a Mach 1, heads-up, and while he was spinning his tires and wheel hoping, I launched several car links ahead and beat him to the 1320 line.

Tuned. I suspect in hot areas of the country, a larger intercooler might be in order especially if you race you ride—I don't! I've never noticed and sudden retardation or obvious change in boost level, even here in the desert SW.
