It's a Ford rep I was chatting with.
Interesting. Ask them for the specs and differences in the springs and sway bars and lets clear it up then. Because if thats true, there is a lot of bad information floating around.

I can tell you the S650 spring rates where posted in another thread awhile back. And the GT, GTPP, and Base DH were all the same. The Magnaride was confirmed as being the same by a Ford technician when the same "chassis tuning" debate came up about the Mach 1s on the 6G forum.

The following is an analysis done on the 6G platform and looks at the differences between the Mach 1 HP and non-HP suspensions. The thread highlights how "chassis tuning" verbiage is used to advertise different Mustang trim levels.

The initial post of this thread is going to get into the weeds, so maybe read and re-read a few times. Several posts later summarize the topic.

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/mach-1-vs-mach-1-w-hp-software-tuning-truth….220161/

"Yes I found there’s no difference for any tuning. EPAS, ABS, magneride, etc. are all the same. The only thing you’d have to change is if you got larger wheels and tires, let the dealer or yourself program the car to “recognize it has them” which is straight forward and easy. That’s where those 5 lines of code differ, the HP has perimeters for its wheel and tire size and 33psi. Where as the Non-HP has parameters for its wheel and tire size and 32psi."

Using that as a framework, maybe someone with access can do a similar comparison with the 7G.

Doesn’t the DH get some of the GT 500 rear subframe links?
Also what about the 2-piece front rotors, does PP GT get those?

Actually, I agree with you. A lot of this is low-key GT trolling and I think I'm slowly starting to paint myself into a corner. This is the Dark Horse owners area of the forum after all. 😅

I went to https://www.ford.com/help/contact/ and said "agent" to get a live person. To their credit, they did have to escalate my question and it took them about 10 minutes to get back with an answer. They also suggested I go to a dealership parts department to have them reference the difference in part numbers between the GT and Dark Horse components. Sounds like a job for someone who has access to a patient dealership and the free time on their hands to do so. It would be interesting to know verify, though.

But to be fair, facts are facts, if the same marketing jargon nonsense applies to the Dark Horse w/ HP that applied to the Mach-1 w/ HP, then I'm happy. Means me retrofitting mine with the HP (or better) components hasn't lost any features from one that was HP on the showroom floor (which I had a hard time finding or else I'd own that instead). If there is some sort of "special tuning" that involves a different MagneRide strategy with the front shocks as was implied by the Ford rep, then I guess it's cool anyway because I doubt there'd be a significant handling difference plus there's not much I can do about it anyway.

When i first drove my horse I really loved it but its in the shop now for a few issues. If the issues im having aren't remedied then I will be unhappy and probably sell it ASAP. I really loved driving it but the clunk in the rear and the vibration in the floorboard when the suspension uncompresses is killing the enjoyment. Well fingers crossed 🤞 maybe I'll get lucky and fall back in love with it.

will you keep us filled in on what the shop finds and repairs? also the build date, transmission, and mileage in case your issues become common. any ideas on cause? hopefully you're back on the throttle soon!

is this an auto trans with a clunk when you put it in gear or is this a suspension clunk when you hit a bump?

Yes i will. I think the driveline clunk is the anti-tinq ring thing that a few other forum members has had fixed, they put grease on the anti-tinq ring and it seems to fix the clunk. Maybe the vibration in the floorboard is from that somehow? Maybe magnaride is faulty? Im just speculating here though. Build date may 2025, automatic transmission, clunk started around 5,600 miles or so, now has 6,570.

Its a light clunk when coasting to a stop.
Is the trans down shifting when coasting to stop and you hear the clunk?
does it happen if you put the car in Neutral and coast to a stop ?

Im not sure if the trans is downshifting when this clunk happens. Putting in Neutral is an excellent idea that I cant believe i didn't try myself.:curse::facepalm:. That might have helped diagnose what's happening? Don't know how exactly though? If it didn't clunk when in neutral it would mean it's not a driveline issue?
