Man you sure are making this your hill to die on, and you've thoroughly hijacked the thread. I suggest to you start a new thread under tires and wheels.
As for the temperature question, If you do a Google search there is a ton of information at your disposal including videos. It is widely known that summer tires get hard and lose grip in cold conditions. GM even did a tire recall a few years back because they discovered micro cracking in their summer tires due to low temperatures. Again lots of info is out there if you just do some research.
