Well now the shop foreman tells me that the specific sealer that is required has very limited availability. He scored 30 tubes and was told that it will be a while til there is more. We will be required to apply the sealer as seen above, and may even have to send pics back to verify we've done it. I've got hives just looking at that abortion.
Yeah no kidding….my car has been in the shop for 3 days waiting for this freaking sealant

I have mine scheduled for tomorrow.

Called the dealer today to make sure they had the parts needed to perform the repair and was told that none were necessary yet because as of right now the car only requires an inspection…:

:wait: Guess we’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Please watch what the inspection consists of because every pic I have seen shows sealant on the driver's side, and under the windshield over to the passenger side, yet my understanding is the BCM is on the passenger side so is the water leaking in on the driver's side and traveling over to the passenger side or is there another affected BCM somewhere. TKS !!!

There is no inspection lol if you are under the recall they are doing the sealant job. Idk why ford is saying that. The “inspection “ is after they seal it up with the glob job.

I'll see what I can do. There's a good chance they won't allow me in the service area due to the fact that most times their insurance doesn't want customers back there. Most mechanics don't particularly enjoy customers standing over their shoulder either. I know I didn't, and one time even got hostile with the, unbeknownst to me at the time, primary owner of the dealership I was working at back when I was wrenching on bikes. His wife ran the place and I had been working there for probably 4yrs at the time. Never met him before that day! 🤣

At the very least, I'll talk with the service manager, and if possible the tech that did the inspection, to get a verbal explanation of what was done! They have always been very good about letting me talk with the techs in the past so I don't think it will be an issue.

That's just what I was told. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Ask for pictures. Most dealers don't have a problem with that.

Ugh. I'm not going to drop my car off so it can sit on the lot for a few days before you get around to fixing it. It's a one day job Ford. Let us make an appointment.
Yeah I picked up my car today. They just told me to call back next week to see if they have the parts so I can schedule my appointment again. I let them know I had called beforehand to do the appointment and was told they’d have the parts only to be told they didn’t lol but probably won’t have my done till almost two weeks from now.

“PARTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE” when you search up the recall remedy. Clearly not. It’s been 3 days and my jailed car is stuck “in service”.

Or owner (of the franchise)?
Well, he did say 'My' dealer, but then followed with 'lets'; suggesting, at least to me, that someone other than his self was allowing the watching. Sooooo, I'm sticking with Ins! 😜
