I can’t imagine my dealer service dept doing a clean job of pulling the windshield and recaulking it and smearing goop in welds Without making a mess of it.

Yeah, I’m good for now…I’ll take the Lincoln out in the rain.
I have no choice, it’s a new car and I can’t take it until this is done.
They have given me a Fiesta for now, but this is good news since the initial “fix” was Q1 2026.

I only have a turbo Rogue as my daily driver but I like your logic. I only hand wash and otherwise keep it out of the rain. Although, that didn't work when I was driving to Canada and had to drive for three hours in the rain. Thankfully, it was very warm and the car dried out quickly. Glenn

@SSuperDave do you happen to know how much time do they take doing the recall fix? Is it a drop off pick up same day type of thing? and also you’ve probably got asked this before but I’m not quite sure, is the black seleant going to be noticeable or is it hidden by the trim? Do you think this recall is worth getting fixed?

If anyone has the specifics, with pictures, on how to test for leakage please post.

I'm assuming, remove the kick panel and squirt a garden hose near the cowl but specific instructions would be helpful.

Thanks!

The first 2 steps look to be about 2 hours. AS to the visibility, I won't know til we do a few and I can go look at one. Probably Monday, several salespeople have interested buyers and the were calling them yesterday!
I will post the entire procedure on Monday when I get back to work.

Best part is, if they do a shitty job, you can refuse the car until it looks good.

I don’t even hand wash…I just spray with Quick Detailer and Quick Wax. But yeah I’ve been caught in light rain a few times…pissed me off….lol.

The worst is winter when they brine the road. I’m not doing that.

Pretty sure the are sealed is covered by trim. Not sure I care what the sealing looks like if it works
For comparison purposes (vs penguins).

I drive my car all winter, but not unless the roads are clean and dry. I have also been caught in a few rain showers, and it is annoying. I have a ceramic coating that I use, and so far, it is great. Once I had a bird shit on my car, and it doesn't even stick. When I wiped it off, I was almost giddy! Glenn

They are having us seal both sides, probably as a preventative measure.

Did the bird come back and shit on your car again? I'm convinced they target cars with owners that having bird excrement on their cars will bother.
