Can they stick this engine in a 3500lb car, call it the Avenger or Dart?
The Dodge Dart weighed more like 3000 way back when. 1969 GT Hardtop coupe was 2821 lbs, GTS was 3100, and that had a big block.

The interior is light years ahead of the Mustang. Other than that, this thing is a barge on wheels. 4800 pounds? :facepalm:

What a dumpster fire of an identity crisis.

On the outside it looks like an Amazon box with an ugly little hole poked in one of the sides (the front end). And I say that as someone who respectfully loves how the '23 R/T scat packs and hellcat widebody's look.

I don't know anyone who's going to want a turbo inline-6 in a Dodge, especially not for $50K+. It doesn't matter how much horsepower or torque it has. Most people can't tell the difference between 400, 500, or 600 without driving something else right before or after to have something else to compare it to.

The top customer demographic will just stick with the V8's that they already have, which both look and sound better, and the lower demographic (after finding out at the dealership that they can't get a loan for a hellcat with a 330 credit score) will keep buying older chargers and Nissan's.

Hell, cops might even start ordering mustangs over chargers, as the new standard, since they can get a GT for $10K less.

This new charger might get killed off before the new R/T's even have a chance to hit the production line. Even if Dodge stuffs a hemi in it, it'll still look plain/ugly and the price difference between the 26's and a used '23, which looks better, won't be worth the premium.

Dear lord. That thing is MASSIVE. Does it come with dual anchors? That hatchback basically makes it an SUV. And that interior if fuggly.

I like the Power plant, but that platform is ridiculous. Why in gods name didn't they make the 2 door shorter? 🙄

Unlikely but they are here now. And doing more than Chevrolet (except for the Vette, of course).

What else is Dodge making besides the Ram that sells?

Chevy at least has the Vette, Silverado, Tahoe/Suburban, and 2 decent SUVs.

The 4-door Charger with AWD and the rear glass lift gate looks like a very good 4 - door sedan design for commercial use (Taxi, Police, etc.)?? BTW- I do like the interior looks very good in pictures. This car could indicate to Ford that maybe they should come out with a new CrownVic on the extended S650 platform to compete. Toyota Camry is doing fine in the 4-door sedan market and if Ford could size and price it well against the 4-door Charger they could have a winner. Not everyone loves an SUV or a truck, there is room in the market for a 4-door sedan.

I want to like it as it has a very attractive setup with the new engine and awd, but it's just so damn ugly and then it's also still heavy.

My last car before my current '24 GT was a '21 Kia Stinger with awd and it was tuned and ran mid 11's. The new charger is really a downgrade even compared to my old Stinger from a performance standpoint (and looks imo).

I vastly prefer a v8 setup over the turbo 6 options, but if I were to ever go back to a turbo 6 setup I would definitely go with a used M4 (yes, I actually like the "beaver" teeth front-end lol) over this boat.

The SST HO is nasty. With the JB4 tune and AWD that thing will be in the 10s for few hundred dollars.

My truck hits 60 in 3.9 and 12.8 quarter mile. The HO with the ZF is nasty
The uncomfortable truth about the new Charger. Once tuned, these will shine for sure.

Very true, reliability is a concern though especially once tuned. Ive heard mixed reviews about the hurricane engines

If they drop a Hemi in these things they'll probably be at 5,000 lbs.+.

She's a chubby girl for sure whether 6 or 8 cylinder.
