2024 Mustang rear-end an improvement?

Yea the black plastic down low protrudes out too much; there is just too much of it.

I agree as well. It just seems to stick out an ungodly amount. It looks somewhat disproportionate to the top to my eyes. I also would prefer the taillights to be slightly longer. Other than that, I like the back, though I think it has to have a spoiler; I actually preferred the S550 without one because I liked the subtle duck tail it had.

I think the S550 has a slightly cleaner rear versus the S650, which may age better, but time will tell. It's like the C6 versus C7 to me; while the C7 made the C6 look old, I think the C6 will age better than the C7.

The area below the license plate doesn't really grab my attention in either car. I think the S550 tail lights/rear design is very beautiful and the S650 looks great as well.

I like the body color rear area.

I'm glad Ford made a somewhat dramatic change to the rear of the car. The S650 isn't just a me too S550 with a phoned in and bland design. I think Ford did a great job on the styling.

I'm curious, who actually thinks that the area below the license plate was an improvement?

Change can be very difficult for some.
Change is constant, it can’t be stopped.
The example above is very subjective, considering the yellow Mustang color pops versus the dark blue, which is kind of depressing when you compare the two .
I believe the 2024 Mustang rear end is a much cleaner look than the S550 in the past, but does it really matter.
Probably not. It is, what it is..
