So these new ecoboost V6's are crushing it on torque. Fusion sport's 2.7 will have what 380 ft/lbs. The MKZ's new 3.0 will have 400 ft/lbs?

Then I see this engine comparison of a Coyote vs LS: http://www.enginelabs.com/engine-te...coyote-budget-shootout-results-the-winner-is/

The 5.0 had a nice high HP #, but the torque was bout stock. I'm guessing boost of course would fix that...but it would be nice to see some displacement increase.
That was a lame contest with a foregone conclusion. It's dumb to spend $10K on the internals of a Coyote when you could spend less than that and get a lot more power using FI and stock internals.

Regarding DOD, I'm ok with it as long as I can turn it off. Really we need to fix the source of the problem - CAFE standards are just stupid at this point and are costing all of us a lot of money.

nothing against any of the other motors, but if it doesn't have an option for a V8 it'll be weird for me. i don't care if its a TT 700HP monster, it still won't sound like a V8. as long as my finances and left knee allow, the mustang in the stable will be a manual 8 cylinder:cheers:

Hmm, seemed to work OK for me, Tony.

Here's the snipped about the Mustang:

"Far more profitable than the Taurus is the S550 Mustang, which has many years of production remaining, build having commenced not quite two years ago. So expect a facelift in 2018 and the arrival of the seventh generation around 2022. This will stay RWD."

Bad contest, bad premise, bad decisions along the way. The conclusion was expected, given the constraints and pairing. For $10k put a blower on the Coyote and it will eat alive an LS3 that also has a blower.

^^ nope.

The orange one was the Giugiaro Mustang concept that debuted way back in 2006.

The white one is an Auto Express (UK mag) rendering based on the same car, but was their guess at the 2015.

:)
