An interesting observation I have made is I see the highest transmission temperatures in cooler weather. I have no idea if that has something to do with the cooling fans or some other reason, but it’s what I’ve found. It is as pretty warm on Saturday at Road Atlanta, and I didn’t see transmission temps over 210. The highest temperature I have seen was a cool day in November.
Now that's weird.

The over the air updates do not incorporate the newer settings?
Depends on the update. I've seen these old setting on several of the early 24's. Not since those though.

These are all the differences between the early 24 and a 26. All of them have hundreds of sub folders and parameters and tables under them.

Did it overheat before you finished the first lap, as MustangNoob experienced (or at least I think he is saying that is what he experienced)?
I’ve only had mine overheat once and that was near the end of a 25 minute session. That was last November at Roebling when I was using auto mode. The weather was cool.

Is there a way to copy the newer calibrations from the 2026 to an earlier model through Forscan, or is it only an option if you are tuning? I have one of the very early 2024 cars, and I've not noticed any significant issues on track, but just wondering.
I dont know honestly. Im sure you can use a 26 asbuilt data for the TCM but I would be guessing. I stay away from forscan since I can do most of what I want via HP Tuners. But the odd ball stuff like changing the redline on the dash or the other stuff like changing the white driving lights to amber would be cool to get into. But I'd rather not open that up on already custom tuned cars.

The trany will overheat at some point if you keep beating it, at least this is my experience with the non performance package. In the past my 23 EcoBoost , the trany overheated and reduced power when I was in a canyon roadtrip....

I find it very annoying, when in auto mode and in track mode use, the car downshifts quite a bit when braking in a turn. Using the paddle shifters you have much better control on what gear you want to be and you can also avoid redlining it ( that will also help with keeping oil temp low). At least for short tracks I believe it is better to use the shifters....

In case it does not overheat , the temperatures will be quite high (250-260F) and the gear shifting will be harsh (same situation when the gears are cold).

Once you become faster and better on tracking the car you will see its limitations.

That is my experience. I have only used the "track" mode during HPDE events.

For daily driving have no issues with the trany.

Whatever they did at my first service, the trans was noticeably better with it's shift protocol, smoothness, and responsiveness. Nothing was on the job, sheet other than they checked the fluid level and it was OK.
I even get smooth but noticeable downshifts in normal mode at urban speeds.

They probably reset the trans adaptive learning by disconnecting the battery for a period of time.

This. But don't sell new fluid short, even if you're well before the change interval (such as it is). When I changed my Raptor 10r80 fluid, a couple years ago, the shifting into and out of park, reverse, R-D and every other shift was noticeably better, smoother, less clunky and persistent even through the adaptive learn process. If you cane her hard even if it's only on the street, new fluid at the proper level is inexpensive insurance against an early mechanical failure.

It didn’t sound like they changed or even added fluid but totally agreed.

I was thinking that, but nothing was mentioned in the after service report. Those reports are two pages long and even cover what the Tech had for lunch.
