Finally got around to getting our GT Vert done. Was told by service rep. that even if car were to pass initial water leak test, they are still required, by Ford, to apply sealant to various locations under windshield cowling. So instead of waiting less than an hour, had to wait almost 3 hours for sealant to cure and then do water test. Oh well, at least its done. Wasn't happy with after results though. Tech didn't close drivers side window before spraying water all over, and then didn't have the courtesy to dry car off afterwards. Spoke to service rep. (known for years), asking for clean towel and expressed my displeasure. Service rep. and mgr. knows I'm very particular about our vehicles when being serviced (watch them like a hawk) and told him I expect the car to be returned to me in the same condition I brought it to them as. He apologized, helped dry car off and removed some oily fingerprints near door handle. First time in over 20 years I've had an issue like this with the service dept. A lot of young whipper snappers working in service bay, probably don't understand treating customers vehicles with care.

And their training is horrible. Many young people today are not conscientious or respectful of others. Still not doing mine! Glenn

I just last week 5/2026 called the dealer about the BCM recall. They told me that the sealant used previously was incorrect and that the correct sealant wouldn't be available until at least fall. I have read on this forum that other people have gotten it done a second time with the correct part. Is the dealer correct? How did they get this? Or should I just call another dealer to get it done? Thanks.
I got the parts not available after scheduling the work and even showing up. Ugh.

Fords latest letter I received is for inspection only. Mine is not leaking and there is no way they will put the black goop anywhere on my car. I had the windshield already replace after a stone hit. My glass guy went through many windshield to even find one worth installing. If they happen to break the windshield jacking up the corners and then getting any low bid glass installer I would not be pleased. Its not worth taking a chance for something not needed.

Well, I'm taking the chance I will get the flickering light symptom, rather than the car dropping dead symptoms. Glenn
