@rugedraw

Thanks for looking into that!
Not really interested in doing firmware updates with FDRS, its too cost prohibitive. I think it cost me like 150CAD for 2 days of access, they updated the pricing model a while back to some subscription nonsense.

It may be just that simple, i was able to get it all to work without DTC's just cruise would no longer engage.
Yea, FDRS is not cheap anymore. Either way, you would not be able to obtain the files. We would need someone with an automatic to use FDRS to get the files and then use FORScan to flash them on the manual cars.

Or, someone can use FDRS and type the VIN of automatic car and hope the new AI cybersecurity doesn't ban the account for "remote diagnosis". These things used to be much easier to do before they implemented the subscription version and the new cybersecurity measures.

Agreed way too expensive!

I was able to get the GTD APIM and IPC file by using a VIN i found online. However i could not load it via FDRS because of a VIN check.

Yea, FDRS cannot be used to flash firmware that belongs to another car without doing some shady stuff that is part of the reason they locked down FDRS the way they did. Lots of hacks out there messing up the data on vehicles by doing things the wrong way and now we all suffer for it.

Either way, you don't want to mess around and install firmware on the Sync modules (APIM, GWM, TCU and IPC) from other vehicles. If the data doesn't match what it is supposed to have, the server will pull future updates for those modules and leave the vehicle in no-man's land.

[...]I’ve already driven it back and forth several times and I love how comfortable it is, but it would be nice to be able to relax a little more and not have to worry about the lane keep[[...]/QUOTE]

Sorry if it had been posted on some of the 7 pages, but maybe interesting to know:
Even if working, you still have to actively move the steering wheel every about 20 seconds or so (not just touch or have your hands on it).
Otherwise, the cruise control will stop working and you'll get warning chimes.

That's why I'm always torn between "wow, helpful" and "damn, have actually to be more alert to move the wheel early enough".
Typically end up using it only for a short check of my mobile or taking of or on my jacket for example.

@rugedraw I was looking into FDRS in case I need it for this, and according to the motorcraft service website, the mustang is not covered by FDRS, it is covered by IDS/FJDS. Is that easier to work with than FDRS as far as the things you mentioned?

FJDS and FDRS is the same thing. FDRS will 100% work on your car.

Removed the rest of my post for several reasons. To anyone that saw it and is interested, message me.

If I understand you correctly, the possibility of getting banned is because of doing something without the physical car there to plug into? So if a guy had the ability to plug into the actual car for the automatic 401a configuration donor, that wouldn't happen?

Correct. Ford implemented some kind of AI cybersecurity system towards the end of last year. If the AI suspects any kind of activity that falls outside of how Ford feels FDRS should be used, it will auto-ban the account. If that happens, there is no number to call. All you can do it email them and they make you promise to not do it again or they will permanently ban the account next time. I have see people get banned for no damn reason. This is why I recommend that anyone who buys an FDRS subscription use a burner email just in case.

Okay good to know. I’m gonna try the changes that @robotninjasrule did as soon as I can and see where that gets me first. I’m wondering/hoping that maybe because his car is not a premium 401a like mine is and like the cars we’re trying to activate a feature from, maybe I have a different/same configuration in some of my modules as the 401a auto cars

Well boys and girls, new development.

For your viewing pleasure, here's a 600a (non-premium) DH A10 with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise, TJA, and LC enabled!

I went through my asbuilt and compared it line by line to the one attached.

I compiled a list of all addresses that could be verified, by way of the FORScan spreadsheet, to be related to LKA, LCA, TJA, and ACC/IACC and are different between my car and the A10 car.

The 'New' value is either the value from the A10 car or what I determined it should be based on my car's options vs the A10's options.

So just to clarify a few things, your car is a M6 Dark horse, premium or non premium? And this comparison car has lane centering even though it is a non premium? And these "New" values you have, the ones you are saying are what you've determined they be, what do you mean by that?

Yes, my car is a 2024 manual transmission 600a (non-premium) Dark Horse being compared to a 2024 automatic transmission 600a (non-premium) Dark Horse that has lane centering, iacc, and tja enabled.

The 'new' values are what I have determined the values should be set to in order for lane centering to work based on the options that my car has. Coincidentally, they are primarily the same as the values that are set on the other car.

Okay interesting, have you given these a try in your car yet?

Not yet, but will probably give it a go in a little bit here.
Please let us know what happens, I'm super curious especially since you're working with non-premium cars. I'm both surprised and not surprised that the dark horse has everything enabled even in non-premium trim.
