Mine doesn’t show vroom vroom must be a special option. Ese is in the coupe anc is in the convertible. Define ese using ford documentation - not a foreign press release.
The order guide isn't a foreign press release. Actually the convertible has both...

UPDATE:

In the meantime it has been officially mentioned in press texts by Ford that they use a system called "Electronic Sound Enhancement" (ESE) similar to the Ecoboost models also for the GT versions.

This is confirmed for the cars with the B&O system, other ones I'm not sure about.

This leads to weak and imprecise punchless subwofer performance and, if the sub is upgraded with a separate amp, it can lead to louder drones or buzz tones.

The good news is: This system can be turned off with Forscan:

In module ACM you have to change whatever character you have in the third column of the following line to zero:

727-01-01 xxxx xxxx 0x--

Checkout the Forscan sub to learn more about it.

If you do not know if the system is turned on or off on your car and want to check it without having to use Forscan, you can visit:

https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt

and enter your VIN.

Once the website has finished loading, it will show a very long table with lots of setup parameters of your individual car. No need to download any files if you are not planning on using Forscan.

Search for the above mentioned line 727-01-01 and check whether the third column starts with a 1 or a 0. 1 means ESE is on, 0 means it is turned off.

Thanks for posting the AsBuilt link. Just checked mine and ESE is active. I didn't read through all 15 pages, but given all the threads on upgrading the B&O sub I'm curious if anyone turned this off and noticed any improvement with the performance of the B&O?

Regardless I'll be turning this off.

Sorry bud, I don't know. I used the info Fruitstang listed : " Search for the above mentioned line 727-01-01 and check whether the third column starts with a 1 or a 0. 1 means ESE is on, 0 means it is turned off".

Does this indicate it’s the same as the mach-e?

Hmmmm, appears I need to look in to this a little more. Wasn't aware of the 727-01-02 line. Thanks for posting.

My build currently shows:
727-01-01 xxxx xxxx 1xxx
727-01-02 xxxx xxxx 0xxx

Definitely worth it, and I found the sound to be better. This is what I did:

Change BCM From:
727-01-01 3033 14FG 10AD
To:
727-01-01 3033 11FG 00AD

Ok, so it requires more than changing just the "1" to a "0"?

You only need to change that one digit as I wrote in the initial post.

Interested in knowing why @exm changed the other value, too.

That digit he changed controls the speaker setup as follows:

So I would recommend: leave it as is.

Not sure how the 4 to 1 got into my copy/paste. Need to check.

What I did do, is disable EQ:
727-01-02 xxx*, change * to 0

Disable ENC/ANC
727-01-01 xxxx xxxx **xx, change ** to 0

Ignore the other change. Need to check my Forscan settings to see if I did change this (which I shouldn't).

Yeah, EQ flat I also did on my Gen6, now in Gen7 I use a PAC Audio interface which bypasses (better said: replaces) the DSP/Amp and gets the clear flat signal right away.

What is the difference between EQ flat or stock? Wouldn't setting the EQ on the head unit to the middle, on the sliders, do the same thing?

No, the EQ meant to be turned off via Forscan is a dynamic, volume knob driven EQ which turns down the bass frequencies the louder you make the music.
It is called bass roll off and weakens the bass performance even more.
So switching that to flat the way to go together with turning off ESE if your intention is better Audio plus no artificial engine sound enhancement.

Ahh understood!!
So it's basically like the "Loudness Compensation Switch" on integrated amplifiers.

I get it now.
Thank you.
