Actually, Nittos aren't even that cheap anymore.

Let's look at TireRack.com, 285/35ZR19

$267 - Hankook Ventus V12 is the cheapest (but it's on closeout)
$281 - Sumitomo HTR
$286 - General GMAX
$298 - Kumho Ecsta Sport S
$303 - Yokohama Advan Sport (closeout price)
$319 - Firestone Indy 500
$358 - Nitto NT555 G2
$360 - Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02
$370 - Pirelli PZero
$387 - Bridgestone Potenza Sport
$413 - Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
$439 - Pirelli Pzero PZ4
$488 - Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP

Now, let's head over to SimpleTire, that's where the people looking for the cheapest tires are going to shop.

$108 - Roadtrack Terrena
$124 - Fortune Viento
$130 - Atlas Force
$136 - Atturo AZ850
$167 - Landsail LS588

not sure what the aussie aftermarket looks like, but 90% of what you get in an RTR can easily be added on later for cheaper, the other 10% is the RTR badge and Vaughns signature
Thanks for the reply.
I had the same impression checking some aftermarket parts in the past couple of days.
I will start installing Ford Performance lowering springs, and then I’ll see what’s around.
