Apparently, dark horse does not have forged pistons and rods the same as a GT engine. 😢
Easiest way to add those is to switch my short block out to an Aluminator short block when it blows with FI. Oh well.

Forged connecting rods, upgraded cams, and tuning.
The only tuning difference is less tq management than the GT. a few misc things for tq converter but thats really it.

Hmmm, pretty sure my Dark Horse has a Tremec. That may be another difference.
Then there’s the trans and oil coolers.
Suspension, front and rear body, interior. Stronger rods and more aggressive cams.
Yeah, I could keep going with the differences from a GT and even PP GT fully loaded .
I’m actually angry at myself for even replying in this stupid ass thread. Lol

Only you would turn a piston question into a slight against your car and make a transmission flex. 🤣

106k + for the SC is not a bad deal when one considers all the engineering and track testing, extra cooling vents and heat exchangers, fully forged bottom end and probably better axle shafts, driveshaft, etc. You know, all the things we would have to do to make it work and last 50,000 miles and last on an occasional road course or a dragstrip day, all with a warranty.
Now where did I put that lottery 🎫 ? P.S. I still like Dark 🐎.

Are you confusing the Dark Horse and Dark Horse SC? Because those are two different cars with two different engines.

PS. Not that Id blame your confusion given Ford's idiotic name choices. 😉

Interior? Is that a tuning difference?

Sort of. After you've spilled your FAV beverage in there; it's got that "lived in look". 😉

Saw a mini cooper today, btw. Pretty sure it was a track car, had a tow hook threaded insert.

Nothing in the thread was about tuning so my DH ego had to go off last night.
I was out of line, should’ve just walked on past this thread.
My bad

I honestly didn't see anything wrong with what you had said, lol. Not sure why people are getting all fussy about it.
Thanks man,
ZX comments trigger me sometimes.
