Hey guys, looking to do my first oil change in the whipple Mustang and am running the Amsoil 5w50. My question is if the Amsoil EAO11 oil filter will fit? It calls for the Eao17, which is comparable to the fl500, but they are on back order. The EAO11 is supposedly comparable to the fl820 and the ford racing 820, so wondering if the EAO17 filter will also work and if anyone has run it. Thanks!

the amsoil filter is just a rebranded fram
Synthetic Endurance
or Ultra Synthetic

same thing with the royal purple filter

they are for some reason getting hard to find from amsoil and Royal purple
seems like they may have stopped making the rebrands

Since when? They used to have their own in house filters that had distinctly different internals from FRAM
since as long as i have known

you can see in that video the rp and ams are exact
and here you see the fram is same as rp

yuck. Good to know.

If its any consolation, Ford Motorcraft filters are actually the best in the business, funny enough. Their bypass valve is in a good location, they hold a lot of oil, and they filter media isn't glued together poorly

any of them are fine really

motor oil geek just made a video that the purolator one filter is better than the purolator boss even though the boss is marketed as the better one
because the one is 99% efficient at 20 microns vs he said 46 microns for the boss

The other one filters worse but flows more

Pick what you want

The ford ones are not the best, quality has changed recently. Not synthetic media, drain back valve is outdated, filter at 30 microns and doesn’t have a lot of pleats.

Shit changes fast, I guess

I've used FL820S on my '24 and '26 with no issues.

I was an Amsoil dealer years ago.
They have a great signature series oil!
I suggest you cut the Amsoil filter apart and compare to Ford Motorcraft filter.
You will never use the Amsoil again.

I think that’s a little outdated. If you watch recent videos of the 2 being cut open side by side there is no comparison amsoil is better. Better quality full synthetic media, filters at 20 microns rather than fords 30, better quality drain back valve, better gasket, better gluing, better case, etc. Amsoil destroys factory motorcraft lol
