Ford apparently thinks they're selling Porsches now. This is ridiculous.

Am I the only one thinking that these will sell regardless of pricing?

I agree they will sell because they are a unique package. I don't think they will hold or build value like some the competition at this price point. They are into base 911 territory and encroaching on bottom end new Aston Martins, but the interiors do not stand up. Maybe Ford needs a Lincoln version to take it to the 250K range.

This order guide has to be incomplete. It's missing prices and only has seven different color options. What was behind the decision to not offer Orange Fury or Molten Magenta? This car would look perfect in those.

Maybe 2026 is a MY to skip for would-be buyers. The 2026 S650 has been a bit of a letdown in general...

I keep coming back here, because there is one thing I can't shake, for some reason.

I'm still confused at the limited color selection for the SC. It did leak twice in the last few days leading up to the reveal, and the one Red Bull had that Max Verstappen drove in that video was either Code Orange or Orange Fury, but the car was very distinctly Orange. And yet, for some reason, neither color is listed as an option.

Assuming the Red Bull video was meant to be released after the SC's reveal, I'd assume that Ford wouldn't have shipped them a car wearing a paint that wouldn't be offered for the 26MY. So why did they do it, and why is it not a color we can choose?

That said, there's a lot of things that were weird about that car in particular, but those differences I could chalk up to it being an early prototype and just using whatever parts they could find. The paint is something I can't wrap my head around. If you're going to go to parts-bin everything else, why paint it orange, not camouflage it, and then put it in a video? And then not offer it as a paint option?

Iconic Silver has been retired in favor of Avalanche Gray.. probably not a big deal as those two colors are likely close enough, but it's disappointing that the replacement is a non-metallic flat color. The retirement of Grabber Blue Metallic is a bummer too.

The changes are already reflected on the custom build configurator (Build & Price) on Ford's website; looks like Job 2 cars are official now.
Grabber Blue was metallic? I thought it was a standard gloss.

I'm honestly bummed silver is gone.

Grabber Blue on the 5th-generation Mustangs was not metallic, but it is metallic on the 7th-gen cars.
I'll have to take a closer look next time I see one, then. If it was metallic, that might put it closer to Bayside Blue Metallic (a Nissan color from the R34 Skyline).

Indeed yes - Grabber Blue on the S650 Mustangs is metallic, though the effect is minimal. Without looking close, it's easy to assume the finish is for a flat color.

Big ditto on Iconic Silver.. very sorry to see it go and happy I landed one before Ford retired it. I assume an attractive metallic silver will be back at some point; Ford rotating colors is routine and I suspect we won't have to wait too long on for silver to make a most welcome return.
