Let us know what the dealer says. My unmodded '25 GT also has mysteriously dropping coolant. I haven't noticed rising back up, I wonder if that's temp-related. But mine definitely has dropped, I added more, and it dropped over time as well. Seems to be a few cups (16-24oz) over 5-10K miles.

I had a '24 Ecoboost and it also had mysteriously dropping coolant. Ford's designs or gaskets or something must be allowing slight leakage or something. I'm not much of a technical engine person so I'll let more informed people speculate.

I will definitely report back. The voice in my head says if I was actually losing any it wouldn’t be near max after running it but the other voice says it should be over the max line because that’s where it was initially filled to minus the air pockets etc. I was also told there is a small hole at the back of the tank that probably drains back to the motor once you get to a certain point over max and that would make sense. Regardless of outside temperatures or whatever else having a full overflow tank when cold and not even a year later its at the min line is weird if nothing else. All in all I don’t think anything is wrong but I do hope to get an explanation I can share with others. If you google this it seems to be very common but nobody has an answer. Atleast I haven’t found it. My oil analysis shows no coolant only a bit of fuel dilution my oil level is good and I never notice any smell so I’m a prime candidate.

I've noticed this in My 24 Dark Horse as well. I've added some earlier in the summer but now it seems to be back at Min line after sitting in garage for 2 weeks
I'll also be interested in Ford's explanation

Considering dropping it off earlier as they offered to take it in if they get an open spot. 2 weeks? Now I don’t feel bad for letting mine sit 9 days.

Seriously the volume change you are seeing in the tank is minute compared to the total volume. I'm sure they will find nothing wrong.
That’s the plan but for everybody else that’s also wondering I’ll bite the bullet. When I did explain to my service advisor who I always work with she did think it was odd as well.

And you were exactly right sir they found nothing wrong. Well, nothing wrong mechanically my coolant cap was loose so they replaced it. I felt the new one and it barely budges so this entire time my coolant loss could have been due to my cap I don’t know. They did pressure tests letting it sit and found nothing. They pulled my spark plugs and pressure tested it and found nothing. They inspected my cylinders with a borescope looking for signs of coolant and found nothing. The only mechanical thing he found was when he removed my number 7 spark plug he found signs of high voltage tracking so he replaced the plug and the wire. He also filled my coolant to the crease in the overflow tank. I also asked him and my service advisor about the color and they stated the coolant has a dye in it and overtime the dye could degrade. But that’s just a shot into the dark answer they aren’t exactly sure. I was watching a cars and coffee video from a YouTuber I subscribe to and I saw a Mustang with the same coolant color so I’ll pass it as normal. Overall a few weeks without the car nothing wrong with it and a bill for $0 since it was all warranty I’m happy. I hope this can help someone. If you have a lose cap replace it and get oil analysis they are a good investment.

Mine has dropped down below Min and has a strong smell of coolant, so I guess I need to bring it in.

In the engine bay? Or your tailpipes? How does your oil analysis look? How does your cap fit? If you have photos for your advisor that’s awesome I was able to explain everything to her and show photos of what I was experiencing.

I think "engine bay" is the correct response, although what I really mean is drive it, park, get out, and strong smell of coolant.

The engine is not running.

It can be cold outside, with the CHT and oil temps only in the 180s.

If you can smell it you have a leak - the coolant is dripping onto something warm and evaporating. It needs very little to make a smell so you will have to look very hard to find it.
