X Plan would have got me $3K off on an order of a new GT.
Apples to apples, a Dark Horse Premium is still 10-15k over a GTPP premium. I personally do not think the price is justified, and thats probably why they aren't holding value like the Mach 1s initially did.

Holding value isn't really all that important to me as the intention is to hold onto this vehicle, whatever it may be, until my next vehicle is long, black and I'm riding in a box in the back.

Discounts aside, from a purely MSRP point of view, a GTP optioned the way I want it according to Ford's configurator would sticker at $69,835.

The DHP I would order would sticker at $72,460.

Just from an MSRP point of view, the Tremec alone would definitely be worth $2625 to me.

She still sends chills down my back, LOL! What tops it off is she has brains too! I would buy anything from that woman..... 🤣 She's downright dangerous and gave me a hug from heaven when I gave her the listing on my house which, trust me, was a merit based decision. Not sure you would trust me on that at this point.....🤣
I worked in Real Estate with woman like that. My second marriage had just ended, 'nuff said.
Except she was gorgeous, clever, very good at her job, and was an Aerobics instructor part time.🤩

This name recognition thing gets me. They're all Mustangs, whether base, GT, GT PP, Dark Horse, GTD, whatever. Mustang IS the name recognition.
The number of non car people I've met who've always had a hankering for Mustangs is surprising.
I'd say the next most recognisable US car is the Corvette, but a distant second.

Note, however, if you're going to make the argument that the name "Mustang" is key, Ford has already thrown that out the window by attaching it and the logo to the Mach-E; there's no Corvette EV SUV.

But look at Porsche; despite them still making sports cars, if you go to most dealers there are nothing but SUVs on the lot.

Except that GM is 100% working on a Corvette BEV SUV.

no mustang "holds value", its a depreciating asset. Every single year, the value goes down. The rarer 350/500 models are the exception to that but even those like for example the 2014 GT500, which according to Nadaguides average price paid in my zip code is still $49K to dealers, the average dealer trade in is $20-$34K depending on mileage and options. DH is still new on offer and a new name plate to boot, so used prices will be lower when you can still buy them new. Once it ends production, used values will come up a little bit. If Ford is smart they have a few more new nameplates or at least halt production every few years. With that all said, I trade my "fun" car every 1-2 years regardless.

you speak the truth …..

Outside of the rare cars … they all depreciate… of course my rare Mustang is depreciating because I put miles on it : )

Apples to apples a loaded DH is quite a bit more. But it's actually only a few grand more for a Base DH over a loaded GTPP premium.

The problem is, once you are in 65k plus territory, a non super charged coyote is just too damn expensive. Im going Corvette or used Porsche at that point.
Gotta love inflation. An 801A F150 Raptor pushes $90K now.

If I ever had Jay Leno or Tim Allen money...I'd totally have a giant garage with a car collection! They would both tell you to drive your car...cars were meant to be driven. Use it in good health.

People like to look at sports cars. People buy SUV's. Look around as you drive around.

Absolutely. Nothing worse than a great car rotting in a garage because it might possibly one day be worth more money. Just drive them, it’s what they were made to do.

Yet if you look at Jay's collection, the vast majority never see the road except perhaps once to make a drive video. 🤷‍♂️

Leno makes a point to drive all his cars. His moto is its not worth owning if you cant or won't drive it.
