this worked for my car as well from Middle East was off by default
Was this the only line you changed:

PCM
7E0-162-04: "x2xx" "xxxx" "xx--"

This worked on my German GT, where it's turned off by default.
So not this one:

probably
try this
pcm tab
line 253
what country you in that they disable it on you?
My dealership won't change it but I'm checking if another workshop will do it for me.

Yeah most dealships won't just do it yourself the cables going to cost you less than $50 and can be used for other stuff too.

I added the boost gauge to my dark horse because I added a supercharger it's really easy just watch some videos and make a backup

Which OBD cable do you recommend? Is the wireless version worth getting? Or do you find you use it rarely enough that it’s fine to operate with a laptop rather than phone?

I wont trust wifi and phone to do things with car modules
i always make sure the laptop is fully charged and use obd cable

1) With the phone version of Forscan, you cannot change parameters, only check and delete error codes for example

2) I personally use a Vgate OBDII Bluetooth, vLinker FD+ and couldn't be happier:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZDNJ1BJ

It can stay in the OBD2 socket permanently and phone apps be used to display stuff.

If you want to buy a cable, I'd recommend one with a "Autoswitch" feature for HS/MS range, otherwise you have to hassle with a manual mechanical switch during the Forscan while the adapter is plugged in.

And as A.alansari mentions, don't work with the laptop battery on empty.

So if you want to change a parameter can you do it using that scanner, but you just need to connect to it via laptop Bluetooth rather than phone?

Do you use it through your phone for anything in particular on a regular basis?

If editing settings though I presume it’s safer to do it via cable to avoid random disconnects.

Laptoo Bluetooth, correct.
Never had random disconnects.
When did your Bluetooth devices like earphones, mouse or whatever randomly disconnect from your laptop or phone?

I used a cable on my Gen6 before and was rather worried about the cable unplugging because of a wrong movement.
For some settings you need to get out of the car or drive to see if they work, so with the Bluetooth adapter you can just lay the laptop down on the passenger seat.

But anyways, my most important recommendation when getting a cable is that autoswitch funktion.

I have pnly used it for changing settings with Forscan so far, no apps.

Cool, thanks for confirming. I’ll go for the Bluetooth one - FORScan recommends OBDLINK MX+ or the Vgate Linker FS Bluetooth but I note others have mentioned the FD+, is there any real world difference between these three?

EDIT: It seems the FS Bluetooth is just the newer version of the FD+ so I’ve ordered it.

Just getting round to doing this, will changing this line in the PCM Module work? I can't test it right now, as I'll wake the neighbourhood.

I would try that one, also do a search to find if it appears in any other modules.
