After seeing first hand how quickly the S650 replaced the S550s around me, I can confidently say this car will have no issues selling vs the GT500.

Is it a Ford Racing vehicle? They don't race the 5.2. I get all the other innovation but what about the actual engine that they race with? A breathed on 5.4 that they actually race with seems more compelling than a 5.2 that they've put in the GT500, Raptor and GTD that they don't race with.
Please God I implore you let the 5.4 Triton motor and its predecessor stay dead and buried

Do not allow Ford to put it in any production vehicle

We are already burdened with all the current crap engines Ford makes, most of which have the name Ecoboost attached to them

I don't want to have to go back to sacrificing animals as an offering to hopefully remove the spark plugs in one piece

I'll let you draw your own conclusions:

i think they meant the 5.4 that Ford uses in some motorsports which is just a larger displacement Coyote

The GT3's 5.4 is based on the coyote, not the old triton.

I like to disassemble things.
Interesting thread for sure.

I've been lucky enough to own a GT350, a Whippled GT500 and a "regular" GT500. All modded, some tracked. I've enjoyed every moment with them. I was never a big DH fan but the SC...do want! I look foward to seeing spring rates, bar diameters, knuckle differences, if the carbon brakes can be swapped onto the latest GT500 (I think they can), etc. The adjustable traction control caught my interest as well.

In other words, I like what I see. I could give a shit about nomenclature, I'm hardware driven. Do I want one? I do. I've heard grumblings about ~140k pricetag though and if that insanity proves to be true my interest in the car wanes, bigtime. Still want the hardware though.

I put together the sounds clips provided by Ford. They definitely nailed the sound of the DHSC

Yeah same, though I plan to simply make the swaps on my existing GT500 if there are actual knuckle and geometry changes that result in real handling improvements (that are not just a result CUP 2 Rs) . Having looked through a lot of part lists, it appears the front and rear subframes are the same between the S650 and 550. I'm assuming a lot of the underlying hardware is GT500 suspension parts. I sort of hope not, and that I can get some handling improvements on mine but....I'm not holding my breath.

I love the darkhorse badging/name. If the name sticks and creates history, every person on this forum has the ability to say "i own (or owned) a first year darkhorse". When i bought a gt350 it was a 2016 but a few special peeps got a 2015. That didn't settle well with me. DH gave everyone the opportunity to get a numbered chassis vehicle in 2024. Now they are evolving to a bad ass supercharged vehicle that can go straight and take curves. I love it.

As an owner of a Dark Horse and a Thunderbird SC, I really want this car! I'm guessing it starts at 90k with fully loaded hovering around 115-120k. I think they nailed it, and I like the non paint match bumper better myself (but im an OG Dark Horse enthusiast, sue me). That being said, I am putting in an order on a whipple for my DH HP and calling it a day, over halfway paid off and can't bring myself to do another loan when I can have similar performance for much cheaper. Cool car though

Also I think the covered car is an updated GTD to take the ring time back. Maybe turbo? We will see.

Technically.....Saleen beat them to that model name and used it on a limited run of mustangs. So it has been used on a mustang before albeit Saleen is a tuner so...it's not quite the same.

So everyone wanted a GT with the 5.2 and the dual clutch. Ford gave us what we wanted. Let the complaining commence.

Ps. Bravo Ford, bravo!!!! :clap::like::rockon:
And let us start with the gaslighting.

This is a GT500 reincarnated. So we’re expecting a $100K pricing? Cool.

The actual logo (badge) included in my comment. It was modernized compared to the old side view of a horse. Modernization that was needed after the hellcat badge came out. Trivial matter. Most people don't care. I really like it.
