Nice! Saw an article a couple of weeks ago that Georgia State Patrol did the same. Also, KSP:

The last thing GSP needs is a Mustang. My wife watched a GSP Charger lose control, spin 360 and wreck with an uninvolved citizen's vehicle in Athens. I don't think most law enforcement needs this kind of power or performance when in pursuit. Let them have their Chargers and Durangos. Leave the muscle to the enthusiast.

While nobody is perfect, I can assure you that anyone who has completed a competently run police academy is far more prepared to operate motor vehicles than your average "enthusiast".

was
I was getting gas in Littleton Colorado.
I was talking to a Colorado State Patrol officer. He said the C. S. P. ordered 20 Mustang's.
They were ordered as pursuit cars to replaced the hemi he was driving.
He said he was normally from the Loveland area, but was filling in south in Littleton, Denver area.
He mentioned he drives around 300 miles a day.
I haven’t seen any yet. Just have to wait and see.

I don't know the stats for GSP or any US PD. But our Traffic Unit did more kms, more high speed chases with a much lower crash rate than our Police had, let alone the general public.
The reason being training, Pursuit training 2 days every week for 3 months on road bikes, dirt bikes, cars, track work, highway enforcement. After that, sheer experience of driving fast in traffic and staying alive.
I would have gone up against any "enthusiast" then, and probably still would.

Which is why I don't see the need to up the danger factor for the general public by doubling the number of cars going fast by high speed pursuits. Speeds to some level fine but otherwise, radio's seem like a much more effective method of dealing with it. Spike strips work pretty well too for those that just won't stop. But, I'm not a cop thank goodness! I'd just shoot the bad guys.....

The problem with R/T's is that it's just more cops joining the chase. You still have to stop the buggers. We didn't have stop sticks either.

I don't really know what the answer is but I don't like the idea of po po using Mustang GT's to catch people. It isn't because I don't want to get caught either. There are famiies out there and I see too many UTubes (Arkansas State Patrol in particular) doing stupid speeds in heavy traffic. Sometimes, it's better to let a perp go. For murdering or shooting somebody, no, but that isn't usually the case I would think.

Besides all that, I adamantly believe that I should be immune from all traffic tickets just because I'm a good guy with very few faults other than spelling errors on Mustang forums. My goodness, isn't that enough for me to be allowed to get away with tickets???? 🤣 🤣 Sometimes, we just need to laugh except when Officer Law pulls us over...... Doing 100 in a GT or Dark Horse feels like you can get out and walk beside the car. 😳

I had immunity. Then, when I quit, I bought a radar detector
