I know a lot of members here swapped their stock subwoofers with the Pioneer option, however due to the low efficiency numbers of the pioneer sub I decided to go with the Kicker 48CWRT104. This kicker not only has a much higher efficiency per watt number, it also lists sealed enclosure volume as a perfect fit for the factory box, which means more kick and less boom.

However, it’s not a drop-in option like the Pioneer, it requires new holes to be drilled in the factory box. A Mustang6g member designed a 3D printed adapter ring that alllows the installation without any modification (in case you wanna revert to factory when you decide to sell the car). I found a guy on Facebook marketplace who printed the ring with ABS plastic for $26. I also had to add closed cell foam gasket to seal between the ring and the box.

Progress pictures and results here. This thing moves! Any questions let me know.

I went with the pioneer for two reasons. It required zero modification of the stock enclosure, and its virtually invisible as a modification. It was a very simple upgrade. I wouldn’t want a larger subwoofer sticking out into my trunk or reducing its already limited space.
It sticks out about three-quarters of an inch. I don’t stuff my trunk full anyway.

I just ordered the Pioneer subwoofer. If anyone knows someone to who can 3D print these, I'm more than happy to add my name to the list if we want to get a group order. I have no idea where to start finding a 3D printer company (Google results are so confusing).
Did you search your local Facebook marketplace? I live in Brooklyn so my options may be more than what you may find in LI listings but here more than a dozen of them showed up when I searched for “3D print”

Ok, I sent a few message to some folks in Manhattan and Nassau. Where did you get your printer and if I may ask, how much was it?

Hey guys, thanks to TheACN I found a 3d printer relatively local. If anyone likes, I can order additional copies at cost. Only thing it would cost you is shipping. Let me know before the end of the week if you want to be included. My way of saying thank you to all the forum members here who have been patiently listening and helping me in my Mustang journey.

He doesn’t sell, he shares the STL file so anyone who has access to a printer can print their own.

I found someone on Facebook marketplace who printed it for me using the STL file in about 5 hours.
Thank you guess I have to find someone to print for me. If I go this route.

A lot. However, I’m now having rattles from various plastic trim pieces, most notably the doors. Now I have to address them.

I will have to try this. I was going to get subs and an amp but then you deal with the fake exhaust sound.

Not if you have the GT. I’ve been chasing rattles too, but from the active exhaust. Though it’s only an issue with the exhaust in track mode.

According to Ford the 2024 and Up Mustang GT has what is called ESE (enhanced engine sound), it enhances the exhaust sound through the speakers . There are a lot of threads about it on here . If you add subs and an amplifier it interferes with the bass.

It’s very pronounced on EcoBoost. I also have a bmw X5 that has the same feature (luckily with an option to turn it off in the infotainment menu) and that’s very obvious too. But honestly, i haven’t been able to tell if ESE is even active on my GT.

PS. Swapping subs with no amp modification did not make the exhaust sound any different whatsoever (I do have the active exhaust). I have new rattles popping up when the volume is cranked up above 22. Depending on what I’m listening (and the hertz band) rattle sometimes comes from B pillar, sometimes the doors, and sometimes just can’t tell where. With all the plastic in the cabin, it’s not surprising to have them though. I didn’t expect and/or buy the Mustang as a luxury car and I’m happy with it as is. Besides I like working on my cars so chasing rattles will give me something to do over the weekends. Yea my life is pretty boring.
