What is the guys name who sold the printed ring?I know a lot of members here swapped their stock subwoofers with the Pioneer option, however due to the low efficiency numbers of the pioneer sub I decided to go with the Kicker 48CWRT104. This kicker not only has a much higher efficiency per watt number, it also lists sealed enclosure volume as a perfect fit for the factory box, which means more kick and less boom.
However, it’s not a drop-in option like the Pioneer, it requires new holes to be drilled in the factory box. A Mustang6g member designed a 3D printed adapter ring that alllows the installation without any modification (in case you wanna revert to factory when you decide to sell the car). I found a guy on Facebook marketplace who printed the ring with ABS plastic for $26. I also had to add closed cell foam gasket to seal between the ring and the box.
Progress pictures and results here. This thing moves! Any questions let me know.
