You might be on to something. I'll mention it when I re-engage with Ford.

Can you PM your open case number? When I take the car in maybe I can give that to them as a reference so they can’t say it’s just me.

Think the Active Noise Cancellation theory deserves a close look. Apparently it can be disabled via Forscan, but I don’t know how to access Forscan. I'll talk to my dealer about it.

Yes, ANC can be disabled by FORSCAN or the ford IDS (?) tool. they would likely charge for it but if there’s a bogus sound, maybe not. They should fix the problem and you should be able to leave ANC on.

It _does_ work. I disabled it my 2017 Raptor, which bundles ANC with fake engine noise. Without it, I could hear a lot more low level creaks, rattles, etc - like loose change in a tray type stuff. Not majorly, but there. And not enough trouble for me to go back on it and reenable it.

Found out today that my dealer doesn't have FORSCAN. They don't know what's causing the problem, so they can't fix it. I think ANC is probably the culprit. The noises have mostly stopped, at least nowhere near the previous levels. I guess I'll live with it unless it gets worse.

More than likely it’s your ANC. Try rolling the windows down when it happens and if the sound goes away, that would be the issue. My 2022 RAM had the amplifier and ANC in one unit and I was having the same issue. Dealer replaced the unit and sound went away.

It's a convertible and no problem with the top down.

windows down as well? It had something to do with the windows down, the ANC turned off. I had the sunroof open but the minute I rolled down the window, the sound disappeared. It was just a thought.

Yes - I always have the windows down when the top is down.

Yeah, the dealer doesn’t use FORSCAN, they have their own tools - IDS(?)

Take it back and tell the service advisor to TRY.
Like it was actually his/her car.

Update - the last two times I've been driving with the top and windows up, there has been no detectible noise from ANC or elsewhere. The latest was today on a 30 mile trip. If this continues, case closed. If not, I'm going to press for replacement of the equipment that implements ANC.

I don’t think I’ve heard it happen to me on the last few drives. I’ll turn everything down to see if I notice it. Maybe they pushed some kind of update to the ANC?
