had the recall performed by a local dealer that I have never been to. They picked up the car on Monday and returned it today. Everything looks great. Also had them do my oil change. All in all a fantastic experience and I never had to leave the house.

Mine goes in on next Tuesday.

Oil change, tire rotation, recall and yearly safety inspection.

Car done in one day. Says they did the procedure.

Nice lady behind the desk complimented how nice the car was.

Found oil smudges all over the place from the oil change. Hood, door, front fenders.

Black caulking they used for the recall was on my driver's seat and door (all came off pretty easy).

Mechanic must have been are real winner.

I just don't have luck with any dealers and cringe whenever I need to go.

Thank you sir, no extra charge.

LOL. Where in NC are you?

Dealers and whichever tech you get is just a crap shoot. Unfortunately.

A dealer near me said a mustang came in for the recall and had the corroded BCM and now has to wait at the dealer for months until parts are available. My car has been washed like 15 times in the past year and has been in rain and I haven’t had issues. I’ll take my chances so I don’t have to get my windshield cracked and have a sloppy job done lol. 1% of the 100k mustangs ford estimates are affected too so.

You could have a leak and just minor corrosion that isn't effecting anything yet. No way to no without pulling the panel and looking.

For now my car is away for winter might do it in the spring, might not. However I would want the parts to be readily accessible which won’t be till earlier next year I’m assuming. Don’t want my car sitting on a dealer lot for a month.

Me neither. That's why I'm content just pulling the glove box and or panel and inspecting for leaks myself. If nothing is there I won't worry about it.

Guess I’ll just try that out instead. Pulling the panel is easy anyways. If I can avoid this whole process when my car is not affected by this that’s the best.

I pulled off the panel and looked around including underneath the carpet/insulation. No sign of water whatsoever. I’m not in a hurry either, if there is corrosion in the BCM that i can’t see, i rather wait until they have parts available since it’s not causing any issues yet anyway.

Just took my glove box out to change the cabin air filter (which is a small PITA btw), and snapped a few pics. I see zero evidence of any water intrusion anywhere.

Now obviously I didn't pull the BCM connectors, but I feel pretty confident I have no issue.

I’m getting a dash cam hardwired in the spring I think they connect it here so I’ll have them look deeper for me

I'm going to do the same but while the BCM is exposed I'm going to run a garden hose and direct the water along the cowl to see if any leaks occur. If not, I'm considering putting some talc powder in the area and checking in a couple of weeks.. Foot spray powder is good for this. We used to use that to uncover oil, coolant, etc leaks back before dyes became the method of choice. It's just a thought.... Since I had my windshield professionally replaced earlier this year, I don't want the dealer screwing around with it.

The hell if I'm going to let some dealer tell me I can't have my car back for several months.

%$#@! this recall. 🤬
The BCM recall for the auto stop start that my car was affected by was done by my dealer and it still does not work LOL. I don’t even care cause I don’t want it anyways and it’s off my vin so whatever but they expect me to trust a patch job when they can’t get programming right?
