My S650 doesn't feel heavier than my '23 M1 did. And Im not an appologist at all. I'll just never understand why S550 guys come to the S650 forums to complain about car they don't own. But you do you.

A vehicle can be “refined” (the S650 is not, it’s not a BMW ) and still feel heavy.

Exactly why I bought the Dark Horse.
Everything I needed to know about bmw I learned when our bmw's brakes failed on Susten Pass.

I'll take heavy feeling with good brakes vs. what some people call "refined" and prone to brake failures. I'll do me, you do you.

My 135 and M5 both had the brakes hold out longer than this car. I'm barely 10k kms into owning my dork horse and the front rotors are wearing funny. Not to mention all the rattles in the car, and the clunks and bangs it makes because ford couldn't build it right from the factory, and I as the owner have to make multiple trips to multiple dealers to get a car that doesn't sound like rocks in a washing machine while driving down reasonable quality roads.

Also in my Honda I don't need to go through 5 menus (the first one won't show up for like 4 minutes after I first start the car) to turn off the auto brake hold feature. My honda has a physical button for it. Ford in its refinement decided to only grace me with one physical button that I can assign to something.

Also with fords refinement my similarly refined iphone doesn't have audio 2/10 times when I connect car play. Then I get to go through a bunch more menus to disconnect and reconnect the phone, or power cycle the car at a set of lights.

Rattle rattle squeak squeak. Can't even turn the stereo up without hearing the body panels sing me the song of their people.

I also don't have some issue with a seal on the heater core causing unfiltered air to get into the cabin. I've owned 10+ cars, 3 of them fords before this ford, and I've yet to experience such absolute garbage roll off the showroom floor like I have with the mustang.

It’s 100 for the GT, and 200 for the Dark Horse. The Dark Horse is 4,000 lbs (the GT500 is 4,200 for reference). Drive a Dark Horse and GT350 (or Mach 1) back to back and the difference is obvious.

I came from 3.5 years, 35k miles in a Mach 1 . My Dark Horse chassis is noticeably more refined and the car feels much more planted around a corner or on a rough road.
My Dark Horse non-hp Tremec is just under 3900lbs.
Hate to break it to you but Ford did not move backwards with this car buddy

I personally have no real issue with the OP post. I don’t agree with it from my POV, but looking at the cars he is coming from, I sort of get it. I don’t see it as trolling, IMO. I believe buddy has owned the cars he had, resulting in a different baseline to judge the Mustang from.

From all the cars I’ve had, this is the most powerful refined car I’ve ever had…like a damn starship.

It’s all about what you like and want out of a car…..I always got the feeling that American Muscle vs. Imports is like hammer vs. scalpel.

@buddyg was only doing an amateur flex. You want to see a REAL flex, hop on over to the Raptor R section of FRF where posters proudly display their "Paid $40k over". Yea, the RR is a hell of an F150, for sure. But not 150k worth of truck at the same time.

RR was on my candidate list, and doable for me financially, even with an ADM, but I simply cannot bring myself to pay over MSRP for a vehicle and I just do not like the stealership games surrounding the RR purchasing. It was un-fun enough tracking down the Dark Horse. The closest one to me was 120 miles away, the closest handling package one was 160 miles away. I had to do a lot of phone pre-work to narrow down my choices and I think it took 7 dealerships worth of tries to get in the ball park, narrowed down to 3 and negotiated with all of them. Some people enjoy the haggling and negotiations, I find it draining but... have no "regrats" :-)

Oh no, we definitely have much worse examples around these parts :-) Just like any other internet forum, you cannot take everything seriously or to heart because no matter what you post there's always going to be someone on a car/truck/motorcycle forum who will throw shade.

Someone could post a video of you laying hands on someone and raising them from the dead, and inevitably some poster is going to point out that you deliberately took away business from the funeral home. :-/

I know some people probably look at your prior cars and think BS but .....I have a really good friend with a multiple car collection that included two supercars.....a Huracan Tecnica and an NSX Type S ....he recently sold the Type S for an investment opportunity but has been looking at Mustangs/ has a love for Mustangs and almost picked up an S650 GT recently but it didn't work out ....

Many reasons someone could want to get out of supercars but still want something fun....too many to list here.....

If I may, I'd like to make an equivalency.

Some people buy a Rolex for the sake of owning a Rolex. It costs a lot, but it's already perfect and you don't need to do anything with it other than use it, and some people are perfectly content with that.

Some people, on the other hand, want to be more involved in the process and so they buy a build-your-own watch kit. They pick out the case, case back, crystal, crown, face, hands, movement, and band to make it their own. It doesn't matter that it's not a Rolex or an Omega. It matters because it's theirs, it keeps time just as well, and it's a fair bit cheaper.

The same thing goes for Mustangs. Nobody buys one because it's stupid fast out of the box. They buy one because they can make it what they want. If someone wants a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Maserati they can go do that and be perfectly content that the product they've purchased will be everything they want straight from the factory. Some Mustang owners are too, but most of us know that the Mustang is for cars what DIY kits are for watches: Something to be made personal.

You can leave it stock from the factory and it will do it's job. You can change the panels and pieces to make it fit an aesthetic. You can change the powertrain, the cars "movement", to make it move faster, but only if you want to, and it will still be cheaper than the premium brand.
