Exactly. And then there’s others that are part of the Ford Defense Force. Ford does no wrong, deserves every excuse in the book.
Yeah, as with all things, it's a balance. Ford's going great in some areas as a brand, and not so great in others. I'm rooting for them, but there are certain things where they need to get their shit together.

Amen. Never seen a company with more recalls. My son is a Ford tech at a dealership and laughs, and laughs, and laughs.
The Toyota dealership techs are up to their eyeballs in recall work between transmissions and engines.

The Korean car guys are replacing engines left and right at the dealerships

GM guys with the 6.2's and D.O.D. engines with the bad cams & lifters are keeping busy too

Chrysler? Just their 3.5L engine failures will keep their techs busy for a while

Honda, Nissan, and the rest.... they all have issues

There is not a reliable manufacturer out there at this point, it is all junk

Stellantis just announced a recall of 91,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees over something to do with hybrid stuff.

Car makers are paying for all their electronics mistakes including the two Ford has going on Mustangs. One is supposed to have parts in the 4th quarter, the other Mustang recall is to have parts first quarter of next year. Yeah, those electronics are costing them and us one way or another. New Mustangs can't be sold for a while. That hurts a lot of people. 🙁

My out-of-the-box suggestion would be to make sure every car rental company in the country has at least one ecoboost mustang to put their customers in. I think a lot more people would buy mustangs if they actually experienced driving or riding in one, and that would be one way to make that happen.
Different rental companies were owned by manufacturers, Ford owned Hertz for a while and you still see some Ford cars there

GM owned National at one point

Chrysler owned Dollar and Thrifty at one point

I had an Ecoboost mustang for a rental once, a mustang ragtop at that. Probably 8 years ago

Fun little car, it gave me a new appreciation for how much they could wring out of the little engine, but if you are a rental car company, buying thousands of units a year, are you going to be buying EcoBoost mustangs for the long haul, and from what I am seeing rental companies are not flipping cars with low mileages any more, they are putting miles on them, and miles on an ecoboost means very expensive repairs and time out of the fleet. If it isn;t rented it isn't making money.

Since rental companies are no longer wholly owned subsidiaries of manufacturers, they are not in the business of selling cars for the manufacturers by having them in their fleets.

They are looking for fleet deals where they can buy cheap, figure out how long to keep them in order to be able to sell them for top dollar, and have them be as problem free as possible while they are in their fleet.

I also had a Rav4 a couple of years ago. I could not believe how bad it was, how cheap it had become, and I am a Toyota guy for my daily drivers, I had a 16 Rav that was OK, the 22 rental was a POS, the carpet was worn thru to the floor and it only had about 20K mikes on it

The funny thing is I just looked on Hertz's cars for sale site and they have a ton of 2023 cars for sale . all 4 bangers, and all with high mileage on them, but just under where the eco's tend to fail

I owned a RAV4 for 4 years and it was 100% problem free, great mileage, great power, lots of room and it was a good car. It just didn't fit our needs, wants, and plans any longer so I sold it. It didn't cost us much to buy at all once we got most of our money back after 4 years. We bought it one month before the chip debacle hit the country and prices skyrocketed. There's a 24 y.o. PreRunner sitting outside that looks and runs like new so I am a Toyota believer. I just hope Ford doesn't crap out on me. Only two recalls almost right away. Such is life......

I was over all of a Tier 1 Ford supplier for 9 years so I know how they operate and it would be too long a story here. I bought one after swearing I would never do that. I hated them with a passion for years but things change with time. I helped put that supplier in a position that Ford couldn't do without us then everything changed in my work life for the better. I enjoy the GT right now so it stays until I don't.

Thanks. I wasn't disputeding the numbers just wanted context. People often conflate the number of recalls and the number of vehicles recalled as the same. Unfortunately Ford is leading both for 2025. Last year Tesla actually had the most vehicles recalled while Ford had the most recalls.

Anyway, none of this has really impacted sales up until this latest one. While it's definitely not a good look, at least Ford isn't recalling over catastrophic engine and transmission failures like of manufacturers.

Just reading about the stop sale. I have a 2024. If I want to sell it to a private party, is this legal?
Can I trade the car for another new vehicle, FORD or other manufacturer?

I can relate. Nissan/Infiniti. My wife drives a 2021 Infiniti QX50 with the 2.0 liter Variable Compression Turbo engine. Nifty technology but, they've been having many bottom end problems. (main bearings are failing). This particular car has just over 41,000 miles on it. I bought it used a couple years ago with just over 13,000 on the odometer. Took it to the dealer where i purchased it for an oil change at 18,000 miles, dropped it off and told them to call me when it was completed. They called about 30 minutes later saying they were done. Drove back to the dealer to pick it up. Then, drove the car home and just for kicks and giggles, I checked the oil dip stick. The oil on it was black. The cork soakers didn't change the oil or the filter. They just ran it through their car wash and called me and said they were done. I changed the oil myself that day and verified that neither the oil nor filter had been changed. They also did not rotate the tires as requested. Therefore, I've been changing my own oil every 5K since then, 5W-30 Full Synthetic. Engine purrs like a kitten. So far. I received a recall notice in the mail a couple weeks ago. I'll probably take it to a different Nissan dealer to have them do the recall check. Not that I trust any of them.

So, yeah, all of the manufacturers are having problems.

There's nothing rational about car guys.
I'm the worst, I bought a car I'd heard was a bit problematic in the quality field, thirstiest beast I've owned, almost too long for my garage, and only seats two normal humans in it's 4.9metre length.
And I bloody love it. It makes me feel good, or naughty, depending on my speed.
I drove 70kms yesterday just to test a new feature on my radar detector against a Redflex fixed mount speed camera. It was the closest one.

They all suck. But Ford is by far the worst when it comes to recalls.

That is wild. And the whole Ford Blue split by Jim Farley has been a disaster. He should have gone into comedy instead like his legendary cousin. Ford is becoming a joke.
