It’s a good sign. This car really makes me want to drive more as well.

Sure my 06 GT was cool and fun, but it was lowered and that stiff buckboard ride got old. Still can’t believe I drove the same car for 17 years. That’s a record by a long shot for me.

It would help if someone could post a picture with the location of the BCM that controls the lights the recall is claiming are affected. This way we can at least take a look to see if any areas of water intrusion exist. However seeing as Ford claims they don't have parts available yet could mean 2 things.

1. They don't have enough BCM to replace water logged ones.
2. They don't have the part to prevent the intrusion.

We simply don't know at this point.

@Stanzi ..... I'm still looking for that damn post. You might consider starting a new thread with a title that would be seen by the original poster of the reply? Something like "My Mustang Held Hostage By Recall At Dealer" and see if that jogs someone's memory. In the meantime I'll keep looking. It's personal now LOL. :-)

The BCM most affected is in the passenger side footwell if I’m not mistaken.

..... interesting. So how is that area getting wet. Is it like some previous Mustangs where the drain plugs in the engine compartment firewall got plugged with leaves etc. then water backed-up and flooded the interior firewall corroding the electronics?

@Stanzi ..... beautiful Mustang. The red Brembos look great with the body color. Why didn't you just pull a "gone in 60 seconds" - they wouldn't be able to catch you!

thanks man… I’m beyond excited to get it. 🤣 I drove around the parking lot: we know the GM of the store personally as well as several of the management there. They offered to let me drive it further - I just didn’t want to get them in trouble. That little devil on my shoulder? 😈 Bye Y’all!

To be honest, they had a Vapor Blue 300A Manual with zero options that hadn’t hit the recall list yet. I almost asked them to let me look at it.

I just couldn’t. After seeing her again- sexy as hell and I’m not a red car guy, but the Performance Pack with Active Exhaust and 301A is just the right package.

we are going to add the Katzkin leather and it’ll be perfect.

im hoping it will be fixed and there will be more rebate at that time.

luckily my son works for a ford dealership so we get D-Plan plus Rebate

Does anyone on this forum have a bad BCM?
the Service Director that I know there said “man, hopefully it’s just an inspection and when they tell us what to inspect yours is fine and we will can get you on down the road”.

im hoping that not EVERY one has the issue

Yep, and I have pictures of mine corroded out...

Had this issue, except different downstream result--if same overall failure mode. Water flooded the BCM from the bad/missing seams. Took the dealer a month to fully correct without a whole lot of guidance at the time from Michigan. I never lost my exterior lighting but I did have significant interior moisture issues and the dome lights inside got stuck on from whatever grounding out.

@the713project ..... good information for us but a PITA for you. I have a convertible. maybe a different sealing process as I have never noticed moisture in that area - of course I will now REALLY check it. Must have been a hell of a leak to corrode your BCM so fast. Geez you have a 25 - mine is a 24!

It was a nightmare for a car well under 10k, maybe even 5 - I don’t remember now. Since fixed (got the car in late March) I’ve hammered it down every chance I can. 13k miles as of now.

I’d check the carpets for moisture by the kick panel after the next rain, also worth pulling the plastic interior trims for the kick panel by the BCM and looking for moisture and corrosion there generally. Not hard to spot. Car wash never caused an issue as much as sustained rains. Takes 5 minutes to check.
