The Dark Horse is wide open. Should be okay.I think Ford did it for a good reason. To make sure inlet air is proportional to exit air. Exit air is supposed to be at least 3X more flow than inlet, at least that applies to RC plane fuselage cooling. But a dynamic principle is a dynamic principle.
I think if itās opened more the air will dam up at the inlet.
I know they make inlet grill delete lighting pods, but who knows if they tested airflow?
Iād leave it alone. Even if it was beneficial, the hp gain would be so minimal youād never notice. ā¦.at least IMHOā¦.
I think they are open on the Dark Horse because that was part of Ford's marketing department they were supposed to be the horse's nostrils.Thatās interesting. So why so restrictive on the GT? They could make the grill as open as they wanted. I guess game on thenā¦
I swapped for the RTR GrilleI was wondering if anyone had increased intake air flow to the air cleaner with a dermal tool?
It seems like the front grill intake areas are restricted a lot.
It looks like it would be easy to increase your intake flow by 50%.

It increases horsepower by 14Opening that stuff up never seems to do much
If it 47 degrees outside, and his oil temp is at 228????
Before anybody responds to this post . . .It increases horsepower by 14
from 486 to 500
Matches the Dark Horse
Didnāt mean to endorse one way or the other but rather possibly prevent unnecessary destruction if simply in need of an observation. If it 47 degrees outside, and his oil temp is at 228????
It is August in Georgia, and mine typically sits around 190.
