No, sadly. One has to have been there when GTO's, SS396's, and real Chrysler 440's and Hemi's came out. That was the real beginning. Newbies need a damned computer to find the "go button". Nothing like an SS396 with open headers and drag slicks jumping off the line. Then there were the 427's. And our cars will beat all of them. Still love those old cars. Their rumble would go right through you. Oh well. AE it is.

A thousand pounds heavier than the BMWs....

at least the "boat" Hellcat was only about 500lbs heavier than a loaded Mustang

what do these things trap at? Electric/AWD 1/4 mile can be deceiving

I finally saw one on the street (the electric charger) and man did it look weird.

I like the idea of this car, inline 6, good looks, AWD, a tuneable engine. But, the weight kinda ruins it. How they managed to make this Inline 6 charger 4,800 when it doesn’t have any electrification is insane to me. 550 hp but they’re targeting a 12.2 quarter mile? It’s still pretty sweet for $55k but the weight is the biggest thing holding this car back.

The SST HO is nasty. With the JB4 tune and AWD that thing will be in the 10s for few hundred dollars.

My truck hits 60 in 3.9 and 12.8 quarter mile. The HO with the ZF is nasty

The Scat Pak version has 30psi.

Not sure how much the aftermarket can improve upon that. 30 psi is a bunch of pressure.

Looks like the modernized ghetto-mobile it always has been. Still, it will be interesting to see how the six cyl. does. There are hundreds of utubes of Arkansas State po po chasing hemi's. They always get caught or Pit maneuvered. And, most are stolen. Here we go again.

Challengers seem to get stolen a lot. Cristy Lee of Motortrend had her hellcat stolen right out her driveway, and she told her whole saga on IG.

the interesting thing is every live video I saw they kept reiterating the AWD works packaging wise with the I6, so whenever the Hemi comes back it’ll most likely be a rwd only thing. (I see a lot of Mopar fans saying they want a V8, AWD)
how would a V8 not work with AWD? if they have the space for a I6 longitudinal, they certainly have the space for a V8. and that Hurricane I6 is really wide, so you probably even have the width for a V8. in fact, if there is space for a V8 and an I6, there's a good chance there's even space for a decently sized V12, which would be absolutely insane. also, just wanna show this:
