Is tuning a stock car on 93 worth it?

That seems like a lot of hassle and $ for just +20-25hp, a 4% gain over stock.
That was just the tune. The other parts were in the baseline number. So custom tuning increased horsepower by 4%, or, stated another way, adding the aftermarket parts (headers, ported intake, etc.) added horsepower, but left 4% on the table using the stock Ford tune. It's kind of a lot when you think about it that way.

20-25 horsepower was not the increase over the stock engine as delivered, but just the difference in tuning alone.

I hope I stated all of that clearly and did not confuse matters by garbling it all up.

Hey man, I’d love that promo code?
I Just bought mine few weeks ago and all I got was 5% off. I’ve sold at least 5 for them with recommendations on here and FB.
I’ll be calling them
I just bought one, after hearing all of your recommendations. Will probably solve my main performance gripe without needing a tune nor boost, and at a fraction of the price.

I searched the internet and YouTube videos for promo codes and found 2 that worked and I only got 5% off with each, even though they were both advertised as 10% off. I guess Soler decided to "throttle" them down.

It definitely will fill the void until they figure out tuning.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
Comfort 8 setting is sweet spot imo.

Thanks, that was going to be my next question: with what setting will I be able to minimize throttle response but not make it an absolute rocket for daily driving.

A friend of mine in college had a Dodge Viper, and the throttle response was TOO ridiculous. You could hit the gas and it would go right away, but it JUMPED forward each time, making any kind of stop-and-go traffic a pain.

I’ve experimented with a bunch of comfort and sport levels
Sport is a little too touchy for me.
I haven’t had the balls to try Ludicrous modes… lol

i genuinely think at this point every ones results may vary. I’ll prob get some headers and steeda filters tune and call it a day before I just go boost.
Save the money and just save up for boost. Best bang for buck you'll get.

Did you need to remove the knee bolster or whatever it's called, the lower part under the steering column or were you able to get to the connectors without doing it? If it needs to be removed, any pointers? I'm assuming a couple of small bolts and some clips.... Tks.....

Nothing needs to be removed. Literally 5 min install unless you want to custom mount in center console.
Put the seat all the way back , go your back and the plug is directly above the gas pedal. Rout the wires wherever you want for the controller. You don’t need it much since you control with your phone app.
before installing turn off car and open doors for 15min to deenergize.
Easy !

Hey guys. I have a manual PP. wondering if getting a shoemaker or Lund tune would be worth it considering I just have a h pipe right now. Plan is to add headers at some point, just want to know if anyone is stock and tuned and if they felt a difference!
Cheers!
Just sent Shoemaker Performance my stockfile and will let you know my honest opinions. I am out in AZ so only 91 octane available but I have no doubt the Tunemaker will do good things. Totally stock car except for higher flowing air filters (which won't do much/anything).

Hot, dry, and lower octane. I am very interested in your thoughts being in Denver.

I will definitely share.
Tuning can be interesting out here in the Desert... Ambient temps really make the cars fall off and the 91 octane is terrible. So I am not expecting earth shaking power gains lol. But drivability..... fuel mapping, shifting points.... that's gonna be the real gains for me.

Same here. On the fence with getting a tune because of the lower octane available.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing about your results.

Look at Wengerd. Best tuner around these days.
Honest results show very little gain on 93.
I want to see Manual Dark Horse gains on 93 or E85.
Just watched a video of them tuning an ESS setup, this is what I’m waiting for. Shouldn’t be too much longer.
