I still need this $750 coupon for a delivery date Jan/Feb
Good luck with that. I don't know how dealers make money with it either, they agree to a price not knowing if rebates will be there or not at delivery. I always thought True Car was just for in stock (on the lot) cars not for deals in the future.

Yah true car says in stock only but 2 dealers both agreed to match it :) I have no idea why but it was just as easy as bringing in the true car sheet and deal was done. I'm not going to ask questions if I get the price I want :)

Ford pays the dealership for all the rebates and incentives. Its free to the dealer, just a delay of payment until ford cashes them in.

Understood, how does the dealer make any money selling a car well into holdback to match a true car price? Ford does not pay for that .

I went to true car website and for the car I have on order was
quoted 44,500; my current MSR is 42,700 and that is without
counting my X-Plan and 750 EAA and 250 Ford coupon and
Military Appreciation. I will stay with what I already have.

There is a lot of "trunk money" in the cars that anyone outside of the GM or accounting management will never fully know.

And, sometimes some models are known to sell at a lower margin to make numbers.

Is it just me or did the invoice price go up a few hundred bucks than it was a few months ago? I thought invoice was a set price. I've bought cars before using x plan pricing, but this was the first time I actually walked out the dealer because I wanted to wait a few months to get more money to put down. I looked again on fordpartner and I'm pretty sure invoice was in the high 29s and now it tells me low 30s. Using the same zip code of course.

I just bought my car yesterday and the x-plan did go up about 400 for me from what it was a couple weeks ago. Luckily the 500 for Black Friday made up for it.

If you bought off the lot yes. If you ordered your car retail it's locked in at the price at time of order.

To clarify this for me:
Xplan = (Dealer Invoice -4%) +275

Does the Ford Build it Site include this in the end Sum, or do you take off the 4% and add the 275 plus Advert Fee plus Fuel fee and the Doc Fee ($100 max)?

Such as this:

Base Price.................... $34,037
Equipment Group 401A ......$1,622
Automatic ......................$1,074
Enhanced Security Pkg ........$358
Premier Trim w/Accent ........$357
Reverse Park Assist ............$267
Navigation System .............$719
Destination Fee .................$825
Invoice Total ..............$39,259
Invoice - 4% ................($1,570)
Advertising 1.63% .............$614
Fuel .................................$58
Document Fee ..................$100
Admin Fee .......................$275
Grand Total ...............$38,736

The Ford site isn't going to go into that level of detail regarding the fees.

If you go to fordpartner.com, enter the partner code (such as eaa01) and launch build & price from there, you can option your car the way you want it and see the X-Plan pricing for each of the options as you select them.

That should get you pretty close.

I did go through the X-plan pricing. It came up @ $39,257

In the "How To" it describes Xplan as as Dealer invoice -4% and +275 Admin fees (Pgs 7 & 8 of 14).

I assume Dealer invoice is the Invoice Pricing including the additional items invoice prices.
Car invoice is $34047.
Auto..........

The price shown on the website does not seem to reflect the -4%.

Thanks

The $100 document fee isn't included in X-plan. That is just a cap on how much a dealer can charge for document fees. For example, the dealer could choose not to charge you a document fee or they can charge the full $100 (or something in between)....it's up to them. I assume most will charge the full $100 as mine did.

Your values are off a bit. It looks like you are adding up X-plan values not Invoice values. On the FordPartner website it only gives you X-plan prices, not Invoice prices, so the values for X-plan will be a few dollars more since they factor in the 1.63% ADV fee already in them. Here's the correct values according to my calcs:

Base Price.................... $33,302
Equipment Group 401A ......$1,602
Automatic ......................$1,067
Enhanced Security Pkg ........$353
Premier Trim w/Accent ........$353
Reverse Park Assist ............$264
Navigation System .............$710
Advertising 1.63% .............$614
Fuel .................................$58
Destination Fee .................$825
Invoice Total ..............$39,148
Invoice - 0.4% ................($157)
Admin Fee .......................$275
X-plan Grand Total ...............$39,266

After I did the calcs, I see the big mistake you made :-) You took 4% off invoice when the actual formula is 0.4%.

Doing the build on FordPartner B&P, I get $39,267, so within the error of rounding :-)
