Also, no offense. I just don't see it. 325 Goodyear 3R barely fits. 5mm spacer on a 11.5 wheel. There is literally nothing left between the tire and the fender on compression and there is 2mm clearance on the inside between the damper and tire.

Some might say that a 355 section tire measures 355mm wide, but some manufacturers are way smaller and some larger. Pirelli is one of those that measures small physically.

here's mine
1747022985447-a3.jpg

sticks out 3/4ths inch

i checked on mine and there is about 9 to 10mm of space between the shock and tire. OP, can you send some pictures of the sidewall, and the clearance between the back of the rear tire and the shock mount and also measure the distance the tire sticks out from the top middle of the quarter panel? i really want to see this fitment and how you managed to pull this off

Why so wide... unless you spend your weekends on the drag strip I don't think it Will improves your Mustang's handling overall.

GTD has the transaxle over the rear and a complete different rear suspension

The car tracks down the road better than with the factory tires ( Pirelli Trofeo RS)
I like the look of the 355's and the extra 40 mm per side is good for traction. Also I plan to install headers and a supercharger. Here is pic of sidewall. I'm not sure how to get a picture of clearance between tire and shock. Tire sticks out less than 5 mm at most. I will have to remeasure on a perfectly flat surface. I have a rock driveway.

well, now im just confused. how are your 11.5" wheels fitting them as well as my 12" wheels are? and how are you managing to fit them in further without any issues? i am so, very confused...

you say your tires only poke out 5mm. mine poke out ~19mm. i have about 10mm of space between the back of the tire and the shock mount, and i assume Ford did not change the suspension mounting in the middle of production. my main confusion is where did you put 14mm? i understand a thinner wheel with a higher offset will sit further in, but the tire is the same always. unless i am missing something? i feel like there has got to be something i am missing because in my mind, the tire should be hitting the shock mount

Tire width will be slightly less on narrower wheels... not sure I saw his offset, but may be closer to the shock mount?
i wasnt quite sure what you meant by this, but my dad explained that wider wheels will cause the sidewall to bulge out more, and that a half inch thinner wheel could bring the sidewall in as much as 1/4th inch. it turns out, there was a piece i was missing, and that was it! i thought the sidewall would be the same on every wheel the tire fit on. it also turns out i was focusing on this from the wrong side too. i was so fixated on the lack of poke that i forgot to really think of anything else, and this new (to me) sidewall info affects that, too.

assuming the narrower wheel also brings in the sidewall by the same amount total, going from 12" wide to 11.5" wide immediately adds ~6mm to the clearance, bringing it up to 16mm. then the offset change from +46mm to +55mm means that 9mm of clearance is now lost, and the final clearance is about 7mm from the inside of the tire to the shock mount. that isnt as bad as i thought it would be

OP, i am sorry for doubting you. this will 100% affect my future wheel and tire buying
