Hello,

My GT was a special order and I told the dealer not to prep the car until I see it. So, after inspecting the car, there was clear plastic bag in the trunk with some loose items. See attached label picture. unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the loose items but I did see the Wickers. It was a pair that were gray in color about the size of my hand each. The salesman asked if they should install them and I said yes. Then later that evening I came to pick the car up. I asked him where did they install the wickers, and he said they went under the car. It was late and service was closed so I took the car without verifying they did the install. So, couple months later went back to the dealer to have the clutch recall done. I asked service to show me the wickers location and the service guy goes they should go on the rear spoiler, of course nothing there. So, pressing for an answer, he said to check with my salesman. Well he wasn't there.

So, I am taking the car for an oil change in couple of weeks and taking care of the recall for the auto start and I want to bring the subject again. Does anyone know WTF I am talking about? can you post a picture if you happen to know what I am talking about. Thanks!

What the ever loving shit is a wicker. I'm genuinely curious. Is it an undercarriage liner?

Are you sure? and are they covered or can I see them?
If you look under the car from the front you can easily see them on both sides. If you stand back far enough you may not even have to get down low to look.

Or alternatively you could just roll over a speed bump at anything over the slowest crawl possible and you can hear them scrape.

I don’t know why but dealers don’t seem to like putting them on for some reason. Probably because they’d actually have to put the car up on a lift at PDI instead of just using their special PDI tool. You know, the 50-footer with the adjustable nozzle.

Probabbly the underbody strakes as said before. The only one that has a proper wicker as in wicker bill is the darkhorse spoiler.

Its also called a Gurney flap named after its inventor Dan Gurney also known as a wicker bill, which is used on actual aircraft wings i believe the trailing edge to alter aerodynamics. On a car its purpose is to create drag to increase pressure on the top side of a spoiler. You loose some mph but get more downforce and traction in return. Bit of an oversimplification to say the least.

Never heard of a wicker either. Glad the mystery seems to be solved.

Well........................at least the first Tech knew they went under the car and not on the rear spoiler!

It would have been BAD if the second Tech had handled the install! 😆
