all stock w/ stage 1 whipple, I've gotten my oil up to 115c just on the street without trying too hard.

Already went through a factory cat, was replaced under warranty but the car was down for two weeks.

If you are going to track it, I'd probably leave it stock, unless you've got thousads of dollars more to spend on tires.

The car becomes heavily grip limited once you put a blower on.

did you have those concerns when you were on the track with your supercharged Mustang?
No, differential stayed cool
Just curious whether you have been back to the track since April?
yes, I was back to the track last weekend. But now my Mustang is stage two Dino at 875 to the rear wheels. With traction control on, car ran mint in track mode. You just gotta be aware of your throttle control my cylinder head temperature gauge went up into the yellow, but I cooling down a half a lap. I was able to bring the temps back down to normal. I’m running 100 octane, headers stage two shoemaker tune. Very happy with the car.

If I was to play ontrack, I'd leave the engine stock and optimise the handling.
The corner speeds Charoudin was pulling in his DH were phenominal.
It's also a lot more impressive when you dive past someone under brakes, or pass mid corner.

But I just got smoked on the highway by some little fucking something, I don’t even no what it was and I’m pissed. Re-thinking forced induction now seriously.
Having FI alone doesn't make you fast in road racing. When I first began road racing, I was educated very quickly that it takes more than HP to be competitive. Things like experience and proper setup are key factors. I've seen V8's get beat by Miata's a lot and it took me years to figure it all out. A stock S650 can be very competitive in the right hands.

I did not track it before I did the Whipple, I did the Whipple the weekend I bought the car. And as far as the tires, I had on the stock Perelli P zeros 255 in the front 275 in the rear, they held pretty good. I got some videos, but the files are too large to post here. Thanks for the input on the brake fluid. I had found that out after the fact. I will be doing more track days as the weather’s gonna cool off here in the Phoenix area in the next month or so. So I will be able to update on my findings . My car is currently getting upgraded to a Whipple stage two with headers and a few minor other additions. So I will be able to give you information on How the upgrade holds up on the track
How is traction on the street with the stock PP wheels / tires? I am very curious if it gets away from you too easily

Who here has a Whipple on their GT or DH and has taken it to the road race track?

1. Any over heating concerns or scares?
2. how is the power coming out of corners, manageable or constantly breaking the tires loose?

I track my DH so planed on keeping it NA. Had a turbo on a 911 once and didn’t like it. But I just got smoked on the highway by some little fucking something, I don’t even no what it was and I’m pissed. Re-thinking forced induction now seriously.

perhaps a centrifugal like a ProCharger is better for rad race focused set ups? But then why would the GTD have a Whipple looking one on top?

Feedback on your experience with this dilemma appreciated. Thanks folks.
Have DH... worried about being smoked on public roads by "whatever" Get a Model S.

One of the most common concerns on tracks with long left hand sweepers is fuel starvation.
The factory fuel pump hase only 2 venturi pumps and on a long left hand sweeper cannot cope with the fuel moving away from the bucket which inturn causes surging and starvation.
KPM fuel modules solve this problem with 4 venturi pumps and 2 refill valves in every KPM Fuel Module.
Ford Performance Drive schools now uses the KPM fuel module in all its track cars , as does Steeda use and recommend them on there inhouse builds. As well as racetrack, KPM Fuel modules are fitted to some of the worlds quickest Mustangs on dragstrips to guarantee rock solid fuel supply.

Remember all the cooling they had to add to the GT500. Six heat exchangers total....

So are there additional cooling modifications we can make?

The Dark Horse R cars have all added a PWR dual pass radiator of some sort and a 960 Setrab oil cooler in front of that.
