I was wondering what the issue was, since I had not experienced the steering issues being discussed. I own a Dark Horse and have never owed another Mustang. I thought the steering was better than my Audi, which I thought had good steering.
Yeah, in my non-technical opinion the DH totally cured whatever problem I had with my GTā€˜s steering. Or maybe I just thought I felt it. Or it could have been the Continental tires? I guess it needs to be said too that I’m surrounded by hundreds of miles of curvy mountain roads and I like to roll aggressively so maybe I was being too picky. Anyway, all is well now!

Any not to belabor the point but these 550/650s just look so darn good! Sometimes I find myself in the garage rolling around on my Vyper chair just staring at these cars.

The regular non PP GTs are significantly under tired vs the dark horse or PP GTs. That will definitely contribute to steering feel and traction.

FWIW. I keep a spreadsheet on every thing that I do, or happens, to my cars and bikes, especially modded ones. I even have full suspension set up measurements and damping settings.
It may not help resale value, but I think it helps get a sale.
Another option is to take the goodies off and sell as stock.

The reason that a dealer doesn't offer anything "extra" for modifications was explained by a friend of mine who is a dealer. When he goes to sell the car it is looked at as whatever the VIN reports by the lender, and the modifications mean nothing for value to the lenders.

So the car sitting on his lot, if he adjusts the price for the modification (like the Whipple) means that it is taking up his floor financing while he waits to find the right buyer who can afford to pay the difference in price between what he is trying to get "extra" over what the lender says it is worth. The dealer would rather have you find that right buyer who will pay your the difference instead.
If we assume that you understood your dealer friend correctly I cannot imagine why he told you that. It’s a general tenet of business as a new car dealer that if you have to floorplan your used cars, ie trade-ins, you’re likely teetering on the edge of financial insolvency. No long-term successful dealer I ever knew borrowed money to cover used cars. In fact, dealers who need their used cars floorplanned are considered undercapitalized to the extent most lenders won’t have anything to do with them.

Spent my career with a manufacturer and it was always the rule that once a dealer starting floorplanning used vehicles we would soon be looking for a new dealer.

Well it was several years ago (2012) and I haven't had any reason to talk with him about it since, so maybe I got some of his statements mixed up in my memory of the conversation.

In any event, I know that he didn't want a car sitting around waiting for the right buyer to show up who could do the deal.

He had a GT500KR that a Ford exec had ordered and when it arrived the guy "changed his mind". He called me and said, "come in and see what I have here". So I drove over to take a look. He then told me that I could have it if I wanted it, no ADM even though every dealer in the state who had one was tacking on $10K because he wanted to move it. My wife now says, "why didn't we buy that car?" after seeing what they were selling for on Barret Jackson.

Speaking as a consumer, the supercharger I would be figuring 5-10k under "Market price" of the vehicle. Just the honest truths. Adding the supercharger and keeping the car forever... There is value in that and only for you.

Cool I'm looking to trade my stock 25 GT premium for one with a whipple and 10k in my pocket. Any takers?

Somehow I don't think your imagination is going to be a market reality. Anyone bidding on these cars at auction is going to be competitive on pricing that whipple and including it in their bid.

True, auctions are where folks are looking for a specific setup. On a pure retail side of things like at a dealer, or private sale, the market for consumers that want the supercharger shrinks huge.

Take a look at ā€œbring a trailerā€œ auctions. I’ve had pretty good luck with selling there

You should fully plan and assume to lose every penny you put into a vehicle.

My 2 cents is: do whatever the hell you want with the car, drive it and enjoy it as much as you can and enjoy your life- it’s too short.
