I'm gonna be the outlier and say I want to see a modern take on the SN95/New Edge, but as a hardtop/notchback coupe and convertible. Fortunately for the (hardcore) enthusiasts here, what I want in life is practically 100% guaranteed never to happen.

We've strayed so far from the original. I'd like to see something a little smaller and lighter. Problem is you need a good amount of space for a DOC V8, and all the supporting rear wheel drive suspension. I rather keep the size and stick with the V8, then have a smaller car with a V6 or front wheel drive.

We’ve had a 2015, a 2019, and now a 2024 Mustang GT (all Convertibles)………and even though the styling on the 2024 for those really familiar and knowledgeable about Mustang stylings has changed for the cognoscenti, (that’s us), there is really nothing for the other 99% of the population that would have them say…”Wow, isn’t that the new Mustang?” From 50 feet away.
Ford needs to step up the styling on the next model, and it is going to be a real challenge for them to maintain some type of clues to previous models while having that other 99% and us say “WOW!”
OK, it might be the rarity factor here, but mine gets plenty of wows.

Good point…………it could very well be that Ford has kept the overall concept of the original profile for the 1% that love our cars? Our leftover 2024 took our breath away the first time we saw it a couple of months ago. If you are not opening the door to the garage to say goodnight to your car, you are not Mustang material, you know?

Wasn't that supposed to be the Probe? People scoff at the thought of an AWD Mustang, but I can't imagine it ever going FWD. No way they'd get that desperate to keep the Mustang alive...right? (I'd be fine with the V6 returning, but that also seems unlikely as long as the 2.3 EcoBoost continues to exist.)

Lighter would be good (and faster?)…..our 2024 convertible GT Premium ‘vert weighs over 4,000 pounds and feels it sometimes in tight corners. Really glad we have the PP to tighten things up a bit. Lighter and NOT faster……..hmm……remember the Ford Probe and Mustang II?……..I’d rather not! However, that little Mazda V6 in the Probe was a rev-happy SOB with the manual transmission!!

The concept I posted above is projected (big guessing game here) to be a hybrid?? That could be some interesting HP numbers on top of the current 486? 4WD for the dig off the line anyone?

Calling it a Probe sealed it's fate.

There are so many personalized license plates for the Probe that would have been perfect, but probably not allowed by our state DMV, you know?

I was talking to an insider on another site about this topic and he implied we might see new edge styling influence make a return.

I think a AWD Mustang option would help boost sales during winter and stuff like that. Used to be against it until the Corvette Chief engineer explained why they made the ERay. It’s a option for people who want to drive all year round.

But fwd is a no, like other things I can think of

Here's kinda an idea of what that sort of design would look like modernized. I don't hate it, I just don't like it as much as the more traditional muscle car looking mustangs.

More design to the headlights and grill and it wouldn’t be bad.
