If someone were going to drop a relatively run-of-the-mill V8 mustang in your lap that were not an s650 what would you like

I like that 03-04 Mach 1; I test drove a green '99 GT 5-spd when I was 23 but didn't have the nuggets to pull the trigger on payments.

Hot take but I loved the 2010.
Really? that was considered the bad year since they updated the body a bit but still gave you the 4.6 3v with the 5.0 dropping in '11. The exterior updates made it look less retro but I guess they were grasping at different ideas to combat sales dropping off. The true tragedy of the 4.6 3v was instant-gratification kiddos couldn't be bothered to swap in shorter gears and a CAI+tune to wake it up. I personally don't mind it and as we've visited in other threads, it retains the legendary sbf exhaust note whereas the Coyote does not.

Yeah there aren't many Mustangs at local shows but one guy brings an Orange Mach 1 with the 351 and 4-speed; really sweet.

I wouldn't consider a '69 Mustang "run of the mill". But im definitely a classic guy.

It would be hard going back to a non-independent rear end. But I do like the 2011-2012 GTs. Id also consider a clean 03-04 Mach 1. Unfortunately everyone I know thats had one has gotten head/compression issues. The 6th gen cars where nice but too close to what I have now to justify.

A coyote car would crush the 2010 in almost every metric, it's true. There was just something about the 2010. I would buy another one if I could find a clean one.

But the 2011 and 2012 looked identical and had Gen 1 Coyotes. Im also confused in why you would prefer a 2010...🤔

Because the 4.6 3v has the legendary sbf/modular exhaust note and some simple mods can bring it up to speed; I remember when Brenspeed managed a 12.60 with one on slicks, 4.10's and a CAI+93 octane tune.
