What are some good Radar Detectors out there? 🤔

I've used V1's since the late 80's. the Gen 1 was OK, but not class leading. It was the only one with arrows for front or rear detection.
Then the Gen2 arrived and it was a game changer. Huge range, I've had 5km detections and not just on straight flat roads. Pair that with the JBV1 app and you have photo radar detection, speed cam and LPR cam databases, crowd sourced alerts superior to waze, aerial surveillance detection, effective false suppression and enough features to nerd out for hours. But it can be nearly plug and play.

In my area most cops are using "X - Band" (country/city), and lasers on the Highway - This is good to know. I'll check those radar's out. Thanks!

I think you're going to find that most LEO's in the USA are actually using Ka band for radar. Last I really looked into it, and this was probably 15+ yrs ago, the only place you might still encounter a LEO running X band, back then, was Ohio. X is the oldest, and easiest to detect, type of radar; so I would be very surprised if the few strays they had out there using it haven't been upgraded since then and honestly, I haven't had X band enabled on a Radar detector for at least 20yrs.

V1 Gen 2, huge range, yes! Just had a rear facing alert this evening that lasted for 7.5 miles (12km). This was a straight and fairly flat road though. LEO was posted up in one of their favorite hide-e-holes. Passed by him on my way through town. Last alert was just before my turn off 8 miles (12.88km) out.

I have the Uniden R7 in my GT and my Explorer ST. Very good detector and I find the arrows very useful.
