Okay, I've invested in 1 7/8" long tube headers with high flow cats, a Lethal Performance 3" Double H pipe with dual resonators, a vapor catch can, and K&N filters for my 2025 DH. I assume I need a tune to optimize this set of mods. I don't have the headers or H pipe yet, but I want to be ready to go if I need a tune. Can anyone suggest what type of tuning components they've used and how straight forward the experience has been?

Just a few people have been able to get into the ECU, it's locked like all other new Mustangs. Tuning hasn't become readily available yet.

Catch can, air filters, h pipe don't need to be tuned for since they really don't do anything. Headers really don't need a tune either.

you'll pick up a tiny bit of power with a tune on 93 but the benefit is in the automatic trans tuning and e85 tune if you have that in your area

Agree with Robvas but if you want to get a tune my recommendation is Wengerd Performance. I don’t have his tune on my 24 since it has a whipple but have experience with his tunes on the ‘19 I use to have. His customer service is outstanding and answers emails almost instantly. I had a 93 and E85 tune on a basically stock car and mainly did it because of his trans tuning on the 10R80. The tune was great changed the way the car shifted and the E85 tune woke up the car. I never had any issues and had a great experience. When I’m out of warranty I will look into changing to his whipple tuning. If you look on the M6G forum you can find a lot of posts on his tuning and customer support.

Thanks for the feedback. I go ahead and get the stuff on the car and see what happens. I may give Wengerd a call and see what he says after my warranty. I have a 2010 Fusion Sport and put a 93 octane tune on it and what a difference! Of course, it only has simple Steeda mods on it but I've had dealer service people ask what I did to it to make it pull like it does.

You will see a massive gain from a tune on a turbo car (40-50hp) but on a regular V8 there is only a fraction of that to be had. DH is pretty maxed out from the factory on 93

There is not much left to get out of a GT or even DH but if you have a 10 speed auto the tunes that are out there seem to make the transmission better wrt shift points and firmness.

Much of the tuning has been for E85 fuel usage.

Depending on how much pull your dealer has with Ford and the weenies that have been instructed to disallow warranty claims for the slightest modifications (Ford has the highest recall and warranty costs in the industry and they're trying to reduce costs) your warranty is already in jeopardy. Your bolt-ons won't have much impact on the torque curve or your butt dyno but an E85 tune will. (If you have access to good E85) I also recommend Wengerd, his E85 tune woke up my Mach 1.

I have a dealer installed FP Whipple stage 1 which comes with a 3/36 limited warranty. I want to stay with that tune until it runs out. The whipple warranty is below and some of the coverages are different from the Ford warranty, don’t know all of them off hand..

As far as I know stock. There is a you tube video out there with the actual test. This is about what I would have expected and that torque will be very noticeable on a daily driver.

Is E85 readily available in Indiana?

I would guess the answer is yes.

Install the headers. Consider getting rid of that 2.25" crimp construction in the stock resonator (most of the aftermarket systems have it, too, so consider what @Q6543 did to his car, 3" dual pass muffler, or hopefully your lethal system got rid of that restriction) so that you have a very free flowing exhaust.

Then tune for E85.

Wengerd has a Facebook post on November 17, "2025 S650 NA E85 full weight LTH and stall converter. Previously he was stuck with his 11.3 et as his PB. Swapped over to our tune and knocked 3 tenths off for a 10.9 at 125mph."

Most of us are not doing a stall converter (60 ft. is 1.57!), but 125.84 mph in the quarter mile at S650 weight with a driver is a decent amount of horsepower, considering that stock GTs are at 114 mph to 118 mph.
